THE WORLD ACCORDING TO CHINA

china-flagsInevitably as China becomes more powerful and influential in international relations, Beijing will fundamentally change the international system created by the United States and the Cold War.

The key question for international politics is what kind of world does China seek to create by 2049 — the centenary of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Will China sustain the present liberal system or forge another anchored on its ambitions, culture, and desires? Millennia of Chinese history strongly suggests the latter.

In this essay, we illuminate China’s model of global governance and touch upon its derivative economic and political features. Conceiving of what type of world China will create is significant for three reasons.

First, it is critical for the United States to understand so that the full scope of China’s strategic ambitions and direction may be understood.

Second, U.S. decision-makers should expect that the world China would like to create by 2049 will be fundamentally different. The economic order will be a curious mix of hyper-capitalism and neomercantilism. The political order will be authoritarian.

Third, understanding China’s ambition and grand strategic objectives allows the United States to develop policies and undertake measures to thwart them.

HYSTERICAL “KAVANOPE” HARPIES SET WOMEN BACK 100 YEARS

scary-thingsNever have I felt more ashamed of my sex than in the last two weeks watching hysterical harridans trashing tradition, decorum, and common decency.

The Kavanaugh confirmation circus has brought out the worst of womankind -- woman who forced themselves, writhing with hatred and ignorance, into our living rooms and smart devices uninvited and without consent.

I've never felt so assaulted in my life than after watching the fiendish, frenzied temper tantrums of a thousand deranged females during what is supposed to be tedious, uneventful Senate procedure to seat a Supreme Court justice.

These screeching gorgons have bigger problems than Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. Their performance during this uproarious time has called into serious question their fitness to even participate in any serious matter of state.

It embarrasses me deeply that these shrieking shrews identify as "women" and are allowed to speak for all of us without question. The only women in America whose existence is continually and relentlessly denied are conservative women.

RUSSIA IS LITERALLY DYING OFF

how-to-get-drunkThe population of the Russian Federation is falling by 700 people a day, or more than a quarter of a million a year (Narzur.ru, September 23).

The decline stems from a combination of rising death rates, changes in the age structure of the population (resulting in fewer women in the prime child-bearing cohort but more elderly), dramatically falling immigration rates, and ever greater shortages of medicines and even medical facilities.

And of course, alcoholism off the world scale.  At the very least, international health officials say, alcohol in its various forms remains “the main cause of death” in Russia today. (Thinktanks.by, October 3).

Ever more Russian analysts are describing the current demographic situation as a disaster for the future, one that may make it increasingly difficult for that country to field a sizeable military or generate economic growth.  Here are the stats showing how Russia is literally dying.

IS TRUMP CAUSING CHINA LEADER XI’S GRIP ON POWER TO WEAKEN?

trump-jinpingA spate of unusual reports in Hong Kong and overseas Chinese-language media lend credence to the idea that, while Xi Jinping remains China’s undisputed paramount, his authority seems diminished.

A moratorium of sorts appears to have been called on the relentless personality cult constructed around Xi, while signs have emerged that China’s economic policymaking apparatus has been hamstrung by disagreements between Xi and his top economic policymaker over how to handle a deepening trade war with the United States.

Stories about political troubles befalling Xi could be exaggerated. Xi recently completed a 10-day trip to Africa and the Middle East; it is unlikely he would have left the country for so long if his position were in imminent danger.

Further,  the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is unlikely to move against Xi after a massive reshuffle of its command-and-control apparatus in late 2015 and early 2016 that saw Xi install protégés in most of the PLA’s senior roles. (China Brief, October 20, 2017).

Nonetheless, while Xi’s status as top leader likely remains unchallenged, his authority—including his ability to make decisions on major political, economic and foreign-policy issues—seems impaired in recent weeks.   The primary cause of this impairment is US President Donald Trump.

RUSSIAN COLONIALISM REDUX

soviet-rule-in-africa[The Soviet Colonial Empire was the 20th century worldwide expansion of the 19th century Russian Colonial Empire. My friend of many years Paul Goble here shows how the murder of three Russian investigative journalists spotlights Putin’s attempt to create Russian colonies in Africa –JW.]

The Kremlin has seemingly taken another step to cover up the murders of three Russian journalists who were killed at the end of July in the Central African Republic (CAR), while investigating Moscow’s dispatch of weapons there.

Moscow has far more to hide in the CAR and is prepared to act quickly and harshly to make sure those secrets stay hidden. All along, the Russian government has vociferously denied any involvement in the widely publicized murders of the three journalists, Orkhan Dzhemal, Aleksandr Rastorguev and Kirill Radchenko.

Russia has announced it had opened its own “investigation” into the deadly incident. At the same time, however, officials and Russian analysts have gone out of their way to deny that Russians in the CAR were in any way responsible for the reporters’ deaths or that Moscow was acting covertly to undermine what stability there is in that country or anywhere else in sub-Saharan Africa (see EDM, September 4).

The truth seems to be the opposite.

IS THERE EVEN A SINGLE DECENT DEMOCRAT IN CONGRESS?

too-sleazyNow we know for sure.  The answer is No. There is not a single decent person among the Democrats in Congress.

Because not one Democrat has had the fortitude to stand up and admit that what they are doing to Judge Brett Kavanaugh is obscene and grossly indecent.

We must therefore admit that there is not one of them with the moral sense to know that destroying a man for politics is wrong.  It's not only wrong, but depraved.  Not one Democrat member of the Senate, not one in the House.  Those on the Judiciary Committee are just the most depraved and venal of the lot.

The very worst aspect of all this is that the Democrats in Congress all surely know that Kavanaugh is innocent of Blasey Ford's ridiculous accusation.  They know, and they do not care.

Cory Booker now admits it publicly – saying “It no longer matters if Kavanaugh is innocent or guilty.”  They are beyond shame, beyond decency, beyond morals.

A SUBURBAN MOM RED WAVE BECAUSE OF DEMS’ FILTHY BEHAVIOR?

suburb-mom-red-waveI am not a crier. My husband jokes about my “six-second cry” when I finally shed some tears.

But as I watched Brett Kavanaugh’s opening statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee last Thursday, I cried—and for more than six seconds.

I wept for him, for his crushed wife seated behind him, for his young daughters, and for his friends. I cried for our country. It was an emotional release of sympathy, frustration and rage.

I wasn’t alone. The shared tears and collective fury are galvanizing women voters, but not in the way Democrats initially calculated. The Democrats’ insistence that due process and a presumption of innocence don’t apply to men (particularly conservative white men) is a terrifying prospect for the husbands, sons, fathers, and brothers we love.

The Left still doesn’t understand that we don’t hate men like they do.

EPITAPH FOR A DYING CULTURE

a-dying-culture[This VDH masterpiece needs to be studied, read aloud to your children, and disseminated to everywhere throughout our country-JW]

The Kavanaugh confirmation hearings and their endless sequelae have ended up as an epitaph for a spent culture for which its remedies are felt to be worse than its diseases. Think 338 B.C., A.D. 476, 1453, or 1939[i].

The coordinated effort to destroy Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court required the systematic refutation of the entire notion of Western jurisprudence by senators and much of the American legal establishment.

There was no hesitation in doing just that by Senate Democrats, the #MeToo movement, and the press.

I write this at a moment in which conservatives and Republicans still control the majority of governorships, state legislatures, the U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives, the Supreme Court and the Presidency—a reminder that culture so often is far more powerful than politics.

So, here we are, left with a new legal and cultural standard in adjudicating future disagreements and disputes, an utterly anti-Western standard quite befitting for our new relativist age:

THE SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS OF SENATE JUDICIARY

Social Justice Soy Boy Man-Child Cory Booker

Social Justice Soy Boy Man-Child Cory Booker

[In 2005 here at TTP, I wrote Infantlizomania, the defining neurosis of liberals, the compulsion to treat adults as children.  Now we see Democrats are infantilizing themselves. –JW]

Ever wonder why, while watching the Kavanaugh hearings, you thought you were peering through a keyhole at a particularly unruly and infantile kindergarten class with the teachers off on a two-hour bathroom break?

Think no further than our college campuses today.

That’s where so-called Social Justice Warriors rule the roost, isolating themselves in "safe spaces," pushing "trigger warnings," and accusing everybody and his sister of "microaggressions" and "cultural appropriation" while making sure — oh how they make sure — no speaker gets within miles of the premises with a thought that might offend their precious snowflake sensibilities.

Their infantilism has metastasized to the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Blumenthal, Booker, Feinstein, Klobuchar, Whitehouse, Coons, Hirano, Harris, Leahy, Durbin –  the whole lot –  are the grownup imitators and wannabes of the juvenile anti-intellectual bigots dominating our campuses, pointing fingers but abjuring concrete evidence as some vestigial figment of white privilege.

KAVANAUGH’S SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD

kavanaugh-constitutionThe showdown between the fabulist Chrissy Ford and the righteous Brett Kavanaugh couldn't have come at a better time.

As we approach the crucial midterms -- which will decide whether the president has two more years in which to fulfill his restoration of the Republic, or be subjected to the likes of Spartacus Booker and Stolen Valor Blumenthal -- it laid bare the stark divisions in a country that seems to be coming apart.

On the one side, Mrs. Ford, a practitioner of "psychology," of a lesser form of Viennese Voodoo that masquerades as a social "science" and seems to channel folks in need of its services into the ranks of its purveyors.

The little-girl voice, the upturned question at the end of each reply, the absolute certainty about absolutely nothing -- this is the couch-riding Left at its most repellent.

On the other: Judge Kavanaugh, a man defending his life, his career, his reputation, his family, his faith, his future, and that of the country.

TRUMP’S TRIUMPH AT THE UN

triumph-at-the-unPresident Trump’s speech at the United Nations on Tuesday (9/25) is one of the greatest political speeches ever delivered in peacetime.

Barack Obama is reputed to be an impressive orator. But he never gave a speech that, in substance, could hold a candle to President Trump’s speeches at Warsaw, at Riyadh, before the joint session of Congress last year, or indeed his “rocket man” speech at the United Nations.

And this topped them all for forcefulness, clarity, and wisdom.  What, in the end, was this speech about? It was an elaboration of Trump’s chief foreign policy idea, “principled realism.”

“Realism” connotes an accurate and unsentimental appreciation of the metabolism of power. The “principles” in question involve an affirmation of who we are as a people, which turns on our affirmation of national sovereignty.

The President’s articulation of this simple, yet deep, idea is what lifted his speech out of the realm of pedestrian blather and marked it for the history books.  For now, however, we should pay attention to these key phrases in the President’s speech:

THE DEMOCRATS AND DEMOCRAT MEDIA HAVE DESTROYED THE #METOO MOVEMENT

kavanaugh-fightsIt’s been nearly a year since Ronan Farrow torpedoed the career of Harvey Weinstein, printing in The New Yorker a series of credible accusations that the Hollywood producer had sexually abused several women.

His piece touched off a firestorm that led to purges of incredibly powerful men in a variety of industries, finally forcing them to face consequences for their sexual misconduct.

Yesterday (9.24), though, Farrow and his colleague Jane Mayer did a huge disservice to the Me Too movement by publishing an incredibly thin sexual-abuse allegation against Brett Kavanaugh.  Critics by the boatload have condemned it, “Lazy at Best, Slimy at Worst.”

That story, a prime example of how some media outlets and left-wing voices have mishandled the accusations against the judge, will likely create a climate in which fewer victims are believed, more innocent men suffer for crimes they didn’t commit, and neutral observers are more inclined to doubt claims of sexual assault.

The political circus overwhelming the Kavanaugh confirmation will almost certainly weaken the Me Too movement in the long run by undermining its promise that the truth matters and that it will enable us to obtain justice.  It may already suffered a mortal wound.

DONALD TRUMP BURIES THE OLD WORLD ORDER

trump-the-worldToday (9/25), President Trump is in New York, meeting world leaders attending the latest UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) gathering.  Tomorrow (9/26), he chairs the 15-member UN Security Council’s meeting on Iran.  Should be fun to watch.

The present continuance of institutions such as the EU, NATO, UN, and others suggests that the world goes on exactly as before.

In fact, these alphabet organizations are becoming shadows of their former selves, more trouble to end than to allow to grow irrelevant. The conditions that created them after the end of World War II, and subsequently sustained them even after the fall of the Berlin Wall, no longer really exist.

By 2016 Americans saw the postwar order as a sort of a naked global emperor, about whom all were ordered to lie that he was splendidly clothed.  Then came along the abrasive Donald Trump, who screamed that it was all pretense.  And he was right.

WHAT DEMOCRATS HAVE BECOME

kavanaugh-swearing-in[This editorial was published in the Wall Street Journal yesterday, Sept. 20.  TTP reproduces it here as a public service.]

It is still true: What begins as tragedy can end as farce. So it is with the case of Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of assaulting her when she was 15 and he was 17 [36 years ago in 1982].

Let us posit that the one thing not at issue here is the truth. As a matter of law and fact, Ms. Ford’s accusation can be neither proved nor disproved.  This is as obvious now as it must have been when Dianne Feinstein and the other Democrats came into possession of this incident.

Surely someone pointed out that based on what was disclosed, this accusation could not be substantiated. To which the Democrats responded: So what? Its political value is that it cannot be disproved.

THE DESCENT INTO PROGRESSIVE MADNESS

maxine-is-tacosThe progressive street is leading fossilized Democrats into a dead end of collective madness.  From Dianne Feinstein to John Kerry to Maxine Waters to Cory ‘Spartacus’ Booker, Democrats are losing their marbles.

The dinosaurs of the party desperately seek relevance by sounding crazier than the new unhinged base that disrupts Senate hearings, loudly pronounces a new socialist future, and envisions octogenarian Maxine Waters (age 80) as more the future of the party than is septuagenarian Nancy Pelosi (age 78).

The spectacle is right out of Euripides’s Bacchae, as the creaky old guard of the polis, Tiresias and Cadmus, dress up in trendy, ridiculous ritual costumes to stumble along after the racing and frenzied young maenads (the “raving ones”) in their lethal courtship of suicidal Dionysian madness.

Here’s a summary of the madness.

THE CHOICE IS CONFIRMING KAVANAUGH OR DEMOCRAT TOTALITARIANISM

The Democrat goal for America

The Democrat goal for America

If Senate Democrats and their media allies manage to destroy Brett Kavanaugh, they will bring America one step closer to a new, liberal style of totalitarianism.

I don’t use the “T”-word lightly. I’ve spent years pushing back against those who fling it about in free societies like ours. But totalitarianism doesn’t require cartoonish, 1984-style secret police and Big Brother. The classical definition is a society where everything — ethical norms and moral principles and truth itself — is subjugated to political ends.

By that measure, the Democrats’ campaign to block Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, based on a hazy, uncorroborated, decades-old assault allegation, is further proof the totalitarian society is their goal.

Certainly, it has many of the elements of abusive politics that Americans normally associate with foreign lands untouched by the light of liberty and reason:

DEMOCRATS GO FULL STALIN

Democrat idols: Stalin and his chief henchman Lavrentiy Beria

Christine Blasey Ford's lawyer has announced that Ms. Ford will not testify until the FBI completes yet another investigation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh that everyone knows will never happen.

It was already highly unlikely she was ever going to testify; this is a convenient excuse, a stalling game. But it is more than the usual cheap political stunt.  It's vicious, ugly, and more than slightly sadistic. In regards to Judge Kavanaugh, Democrats are channeling Comrade Beria's famous dictum: "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime."

But in the grand tradition of Stalin and Beria, it is our FBI that leads the pack, and the man whose crime they wished to "show" is President Trump.

Unfortunately for the FBI, the tables have turned and the crime stoppers are about to be unmasked as the criminals.

THE SALEM WITCH TRIAL OF JUDGE KAVANAUGH

salem-witch-trialsThe Salem Witch Trials (Feb. 1692-May 1693) turned on what was called “spectral evidence.”

That was testimony from witnesses—either malicious or hysterical—who claimed the accused had assumed the form of a black cat or some other devilish creature and had come visiting in the night in order to torment the witness with bites and scratches, or to rearrange the bedroom furniture, or to send the baby into paroxysms.

Susannah Sheldon, aged about 18, testified that the defendant Sarah Good’s apparition—not the actual Sarah Good, but her spirit, her specter—“most violently pulled down my head behind a chest and tied my hands together with a whale band and almost choked me to death.” Other witnesses blamed Good for the mysterious deaths of cows or for causing a broom to fly up into an apple tree.

The judge, William Stoughton, admitted this nonsense into evidence. Hysterical fantasies had real consequences: Sarah Good and four other defendants were hanged on July 19, 1692.

Three hundred twenty-six years later, an anonymous woman—a spectral and possibly nonexistent woman, for all that one knew when the story emerged—accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her 36 years ago, when he was a high-school student.

It seemed as if the American constitutional process might be drawn back to the three centuries-old neighborhood of Salem, Mass.

THE #METOO KAVANAUGH AMBUSH

Judge Kavanaugh with the girls he coaches in basketball The hurt Democrats have done to them to smear the Judge is evil (caption by JW)

Judge Kavanaugh with the girls he coaches in basketball The hurt Democrats have done to them to smear the Judge is evil (caption by JW)

[This editorial was published in today’s Sept. 18 edition of the Wall Street Journal --JW]

The woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of a drunken assault when both were teenagers has now come forward publicly, and on Monday (9/17) it caused Republicans to delay a confirmation vote and schedule another public hearing.

Yet there is no way to confirm her story after 36 years, and to let it stop Mr. Kavanaugh’s confirmation would ratify what has all the earmarks of a calculated political ambush.

Ms. Ford’s story is simply too distant and uncorroborated to warrant a new hearing or to delay a vote. We’ve heard from all three principals, and there are no other witnesses to call. Democrats will use Monday’s (9/24) hearing as a political spectacle to coax Mr. Kavanaugh into looking defensive or angry, and to portray Republicans as anti-women. Odds are it will be a circus.

GOP Senators should understand that the political cost of defeating Mr. Kavanaugh will likely include the loss of the Senate. Democrats are already motivated to vote against Donald Trump, and if Republicans panic now their own voters will rightly be furious. They would be letting Democrats get away with the same dirty trick they tried and failed to pull off against Clarence Thomas.

RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE DREAM

homers-museHomer’s Muse sings of the rage of Achilles, brought forth from his tent by the death of his friend Patroclus to engage the Trojan hero, Hector, in mortal combat.

But Achilles’ anger solves nothing; although he kills Hector, he then desecrates the body by dragging it around the walls of Troy, thus violating the laws of warfare and sealing his own fate.

His determination to avenge his friend thus becomes “the accursed rage that brought great suffering to the Achaeans.” In the end, it’s not the rage of Achilles that wins the war for the Greeks, but the trickery of Odysseus that finagles the wooden horse inside the impregnable gates of Ilium.

We are witnessing a similar self-destructive rage today: the rage of the American Left against the Trump Administration in general and the president in particular.

What besides a profound, educationally inculcated, and emotionally juvenile hatred for the United States motivates them to such paroxysms of hysteria?

PRESIDENT TRUMP DESERVES THE NOBEL PRIZE IN ECONOMICS

trump-tweet-091018This past week I asked a friend at the White House about how the president was holding up against the onslaught of media attacks. "They didn't even deliver a glancing blow," was the response. It wasn't for a lack of trying.

Has any president in modern times been the target of such a Blitzkrieg of orchestrated assaults -- from John McCain's funeral turned anti-Trump scrum, to Bob Woodward's discredited new book trashing the president, to the media infatuation with the anonymous New York Times op-ed by a disgruntled federal employee who hates President Trump?

Here we go again. Trump is (for the umpteenth time) characterized as dangerous, deranged, delusional, infantile, racist and amoral. But Trump is like Muhammad Ali playing rope-a-dope while George Foreman (the media) is flailing away and punching himself out.

For the bottom line is the surging Trump economy is the news story of the decade, for which the president is personally responsible no matter how much the media deny or ignore it.

MY STATE NEEDS A SENATOR FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS NOT THE GLOBAL ELITE

Josh Hawley with the President, Kansas City, Missouri, July 24, 2018

Josh Hawley with the President, Kansas City, Missouri, July 24, 2018

[The fate of America is at stake on November 6. We can achieve a Red Wave in the Senate by having outstanding pro-America candidates like Josh Hawley of Missouri defeat Democrat incumbents.--JW]

My grandfather was the first generation of our family born in the United States. His parents came to this country from Norway and became farmers, which is what my grandpa did too until the day he died.

Grandpa was fiercely proud to be an American citizen. He once told me his father wouldn’t teach him Norwegian because “this family is American now.” Grandpa never forgot it.

I haven’t forgotten it either. When you come to this country, you join a family – the American family. And in America, we stick up for one another, believe in one another, fight for one another.

Unfortunately, our ruling elite has given up on all that. They’ve become globalists first and Americans second. If you want to see Exhibit A, look at Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who I am running against in the November election.

ELIMINATING THE MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE

wifi-exposeOne the most common questions I get from both customers and everyday people is:  Tex, how can I protect myself when I’m on a public Wi-Fi?”

Well, per the security research group Pentura Labs the answer is straight-forward:  You can’t!

“The best possible advice is –  if you do not trust the WiFi AP, turn off WiFi and use your 3G/4G connection on your mobile or 3G/4G modem!”

In this article I want to arm my fellow TTP’ers with the real reasons why using public Wi-Fi is so dangerous, and as with all of these reports dispel a lot of common myths and misinformation you may have heard about.  Mostly, they involve a family of attacks known as “The Man-In-The-Middle.”

PATRIOT DAY

We come together, today, to recall this timeless truth: When America is united, no force on Earth can break us apart. Our values endure; our people thrive; our Nation prevails; and the memory of our loved ones never fades.

Although that fateful Tuesday 17 years ago began like any other, it erupted into horror and anguish when radical Islamist terrorists carried out an unprecedented attack on our homeland.

In New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, the enemies of liberty took aim on America, but their evil acts could not crush our spirit, overcome our will, or loosen our commitment to freedom.

HOW DARE A SENIOR TRUMP OFFICIAL ARROGANTLY SUBVERT AN ELECTED PRESIDENT

trump-tweet-090618[What the New York Times did yesterday (9/05) was so unconscionable that CNN – yes, CNN – ran a condemnation of it this morning. TTP is publishing it to help  you absorb what just happened. –JW]

(CNN) In the last week, we have learned that unelected appointees of the executive branch are openly thwarting the policy desires of the President of the United States — in some cases anonymously.

To the political left, these people are heroes, doing what must be done "to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump's more misguided impulses until he is out of office," as the anonymous "senior official" in the Trump administration put it in a controversial op-ed published Wednesday in the New York Times.

These statements are alarming, of course, because of the "senior" level status of the government official purported to have written them. [Note the anonymous writer is not a senior official in the White House, but merely somewhere among the vast bureaucracy comprising the Executive Branch.]

But they are also alarming because an anonymous, unelected government appointee is substituting his or her judgment for that of the duly elected leader of a constitutional republic.

OUR EYE OF SAURON

The Eye of Sauron

The Eye of Sauron

A definition of totalitarianism might be the saturation of every facet of daily life by political agendas and social-justice messaging.

At the present rate, America will soon resemble the dystopias of novels such as 1984 and Brave New World, in which the All-Seeing Social Justice Eye penetrates all aspects of our lives with an  ideology of coerced sameness.

Or rather, the prevailing orthodoxy in America is the omnipresent attempt of an elite — exempt from the consequences of its own ideology thanks to its supposed superior virtue and intelligence — to mandate an equality of result.

We expect their 24/7 political messaging on cable-channel news networks, talk radio, or print and online media. And we concede that long ago an NPR, CNN, MSNBC, or New York Times ceased being journalistic entities as much as obsequious megaphones of the progressive itinerary.

But increasingly we cannot escape anywhere the lidless gaze of our progressive lords, the Eye of Sauron all-knowing from high up in their dark towers.

THE MULTI-MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR HOMELESS SCAM

scam-is-badNew York City will be spending $2.06 billion on its Department of Homeless Services. There are 61,421 homeless people in the city which is spending $33,539 per homeless person.

More money will be spent on the homeless than on the firefighters who save New Yorkers from burning buildings. The FDNY will have to make do with $2.04 billion, and the health department with $1.6 billion.

Has this vast infusion of cash solved homelessness in the city?  Of course not.

Homelessness is a manufactured crisis that funnels money to special interests, building up a social welfare sector of the government, while subsidizing and fueling the scale and scope of the problem – whether in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, or most any other Democrat-run urban area.

THANK YOU, LANNY DAVIS!

anonymous-sourcesIt was only a week ago that Democrats, journalists, and NeverTrump Republicans were (again) calling for the impeachment of the president. But this time, they were certain the end was near.

Following the plea agreement between Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, and federal prosecutors for campaign finance violations tied to payoffs in 2016 to Trump’s alleged lovers, this tiresome anti-Trump cabal insisted the Cohen fiasco would finally spell the doom they’ve been counting on since Trump took office.

A New York Times columnist claimed Trump was “credibly alleged to have purposefully conspired with Cohen to commit criminal acts,” and that the conduct met the constitutional threshold of “high crimes and misdemeanors” for which the president should be removed from office.

The entire media herd brayed this to the moon.  Things looked grim. Even longtime defenders of the president were gobsmacked about how to mitigate the damage as the political pile-on continued.

Then along came Lanny Davis.

THE EXISTENTIAL ANXIETY OF THE WHITE MALE DEMOCRAT

total-meltdownAndrew Cuomo, Governor of my home state of New York, was recently speaking in Manhattan (8/15), signing a bill to make sex trafficking a felony in the state. He made a now-famous gaffe, which says a great deal about the state of the modern Democrat Party.

So there was Cuomo doing the soft-shoe shuffle. Our Governor is a sort of grandee of the Democrat Party: son of a former three-term Governor, ex-husband of a Kennedy gal.

But I should say that the phrase “Democrat Party” in my last sentence refers to the old Democrat Party, the party of FDR, JFK, Bill Clinton and John Kerry.

Andrew Cuomo, like those other names, is a white guy of European ancestry. Like other white guys in his party, Cuomo has the uncomfortable feeling that the ground is moving under his feet—that the Democrat Party is turning into something different from what it has been though his, and my, lifetime.

The great engine of American capitalism is once again firing on all cylinders, as shown by the 4.1 percent annualized growth of America’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter of this year.

Most Americans (with the exception of Democrats in Congress) are celebrating the good economic news. There is quiet rejoicing in many European and Asian capitals as well, since their mostly sluggish economies will now be drawn along in America’s powerful wake.

But there is one capital where the American economic renaissance is definitely not welcome news. Consternation reigns in China, where President Xi Jinping is nervously watching his “China Dream” of dominating the United States go up in smoke.

You see, surprising though it may sound, America’s economy may now be growing at a faster clip than China’s. And this changes everything.  Actually, as the photo of the US and China First Ladies symbolizes, ever since Trump, it’s no contest.

DYSGENICS AND LOW CREATIVITY – WHY CHINA ISN’T THE FUTURE

china-splittingIt’s possible to derive some comfort from contemplating the Chinese. Sure, unless something radical is done, Western civilization is going to collapse due to the most intelligent women having the fewest children, combined with massive low IQ (and highly fertile) immigration from the Third World.

So argues Edward Dutton in his forthcoming At Our Wits’ End.  Some will then argue that surely civilization will be preserved by the Chinese. Unfortunately, research is showing that this is just wishful thinking.

Such as leading IQ researcher Professor Richard Lynn actually proclaiming in his book Dysgenics that China’s one child policy—introduced in 1979 and abolished in 2015—was the savior of civilization.

Unfortunately for China, this is not what research by a young Chinese psychologist has found  -- that such dysgenics has caused a drop in overall Chinese IQ.   The problem is compounded by research showing that Northeast Asians are genetically less intellectually creative than Europeans. It asks: Why Do Northeast Asians Win So Few Nobel Prizes?

OBAMA’S CIA AND THE WORST INTELLIGENCE FAILURE IN DECADES

obama-cia[President Trump has denounced Obama’s John Brennan as “the worst CIA Director in our country’s history.” Yet, as Foreign Policy’s investigative journalist Zach Dorfman describes below, Obama’s CIA as a whole is responsible for the disaster he recounts. –JW]

It was considered one of the CIA’s worst failures in decades: Over a two-year period starting in late 2010, Chinese authorities systematically dismantled the agency’s network of agents across the country, executing dozens of suspected U.S. spies.

Since then, a question has loomed over the entire debacle.  How were the Chinese able to roll up the network?

Now, nearly eight years later, it appears that the agency botched the communication system it used to interact with its sources, according to five current and former intelligence officials.

REMEMBER MOLLIE TIBBETTS!

Mollie Tibbetts and her illegal alien murderer Cristhian Bahena Rivera

Mollie Tibbetts and her illegal alien murderer Cristhian Bahena Rivera

Donald Trump won in 2016 precisely because love trumps hate—the love of a parent for her children; the love of people for their community; and the proper love citizens have for their country.

Those people—62 million Americans, give or take, and counting—are tired of seeing their love undermined and negated by years of hateful Democrat Party policies. That’s the truth of the matter.

Over the past few weeks, a missing persons case involving a 20-year-old University of Iowa student, Mollie Tibbetts, has been in the news daily. While taking a run in the evening in July, the Iowa student did not come back home.

And why did this happen? Because Mollie was murdered by an illegal alient—24-year-old Cristhian Bahena Rivera. Not only is Rivera an illegal alien but he had been in the country illegally for seven years.

Angel Moms ask, “How many more will it take for all of America to wake up and get behind President Trump to secure our borders and clean up our country?”

Let the memory of young Mollie Tibbetts, of her family, and of all the people who’ve been victims of illegal immigration remember just what’s at stake in November.

THE DANGER OF SOCIAL MEDIA MONOPOLIES MUST BE ENDED NOW

fix-facebookFacebook, Twitter, and Google are far worse than the original monopolies like International Harvester and Standard Oil and far more dangerous because they monopolize not just our industries but our brains. They control, or at least inordinately influence, how Americans and even much of the world think.

The news that Facebook has "trust" scores for users but will not reveal them to those same users is, to put it mildly, distressing.

Indeed, Facebook has a lot in common with Communist China these days. From the Daily Mail: Communist China will use a 'social credit score' to rank it citizens and give those with the most favored behavior perks.

So here’s what we need to do to end their evil – and it has to be done now, before they cause irreparable damage to the viability of our coming mid-term elections.

THE PASTOR SHINING THE TRUTH ON TURKEY TO THE PRESIDENT

free-pastor-andrewFor the better part of the past 15 years since Erdogan and his Islamist AJP party were first elected in December 2002, Turkey watchers in the US – like here at TTP – have warned that US leaders and policymakers that Erdogan is an Islamist revolutionary who intends to transform Turkey into a radical Islamic state.

The Trump administration, like its two predecessors, was not at all eager to acknowledge reality, let alone act on it.

But since Trump entered office, there has been a major obstacle that made ignoring Turkey’s hostility to the US and its interests increasingly difficult to sweep under the rug.

That obstacle is the imprisonment of Pastor Andrew Brunson.  Now, thanks to him, President Trump finally understands the evil that is Erdogan.

ANTIVIRUS IS DEAD

paul-harveyBrian Dye, Senior Vice President of Information Security at Symantec, (in)famously declared back in 2014 that “Antivirus is Dead” in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

Symantec, if you’re not aware in non-Tex-land is the maker of Norton Antivirus.  So, needless to say, his remarks generated significant shock and criticism at the time.

The truth is he was and is absolutely right.  However, as with most things that’s not the whole story.

In my first article on TTP, A Clean Start, I made the following assertion, echoing Dye’s sentiment:

“Anti-virus is today at best about 30% effective at stopping malware.  It’s near-0% in stopping a determined attacker and also near-0% if not kept up-to-date daily.”
What he and I mean when we say Antivirus programs are “dead” is that any computing defense that relies on a “blacklist” of programs that shouldn’t be allowed to run is ineffective by itself in today’s connected world.  We need defenses based on new technologies like behavioral analysis and “whitelisting.”

TRUMP HAS RED CHINA REELING

red-china-reelingOmarosa. The show trial for Paul Manafort. These are the things CNN chipmunks chattered about endlessly the last few days. But CNN has no news judgment because it is run by a moron with a Harvard degree and a Napoleon Complex.

To find the news, I read the South China Morning Post, which is worried spitless that the Red Chinese economy will tank like its stock market has.

Its stocks overall have declined in value by 40% in the last three years. Our stocks are up 33% since we elected Trump. The SCMP thus is running a series of columns by panicked investors and experts.  They should be.  Trump has China reeling for a number of reasons.
