THE TRAGEDY OF TRUMP
At a rally in Florida Monday (8/08), Seddique Mateen, father of Omar Mateen, who murdered 49 at a gay nightclub in Orlando, sat behind the podium where Hillary Clinton was speaking.
Seddique is not responsible for his son’s horrific crime. But he has some fishy associations. Evidently Hillary – or at least some on her staff – have difficulty distinguishing between Moslem patriots such as Army Capt. Humayan Khan, and Islamist terrorists such as Omar Mateen.
A top official at the Clinton Foundation told State Department aides to give special access to a Lebanese businessman who pled guilty to laundering funds for a Nigerian dictator, emails released Tuesday (8/09) revealed.
Why? Because Gilbert Chagoury pledged $1 billion to the Clinton Global Initiative in 2009.
Handed two big clubs with which to pound his opponent, Donald Trump chose instead to beat his own brains out.
WHY TRUMP IS BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT THAN HILLARY
A Donald Trump presidency would be way more beneficial to the environment than a Hillary Clinton presidency.
Trump really needs to mention this point at his rallies, not just for the trolling, but also because it happens to be true.
Consider just one example: the hundreds of thousands of rare birds and endangered bats slaughtered in the US every year by the wind farms that Hillary Clinton applauds (and will no doubt go on subsidizing) and that Donald Trump loathes (and will no doubt starve of subsidies and cause to become as extinct as the Dodo).
As the Daily Beast recently noted, Trump’s hatred of wind farms is probably the most consistent and long-standing of all his political convictions.
Donald J. Trump Verified account @realDonaldTrump "@noturbine: @realDonaldTrump Wind turbines kill up to 39 million birds a year, Industry hides evidence of kills http://www.cfact.org/2013/03/18/wind-turbines-kill-up-to-39-million-birds-a-year/ …"
Trump does have a point. If you care about flying wildlife, bat-chomping, bird-slicing eco-crucifixes really are about the most pointlessly destructive form of power generation there is – as a series of recent studies show.
THE OBAMA-CLINTON-MEDIA SYMBIOSIS OF LIES
On Sunday (8/07), the Iranian regime unexpectedly announced it had executed its former nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri. As reports of Amiri’s demise make clear, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton may very well be partially to blame for his death.
Although deeply significant, Amiri’s execution was “the other Iran story” this week. The main story was Wall Street Journal’s revelation that on January 17, the day the US’s nuclear deal with Iran came into force, the US sent an unmarked cargo plane to Tehran loaded with $400 million cash.
Five US citizens held hostage by Iran were released that day.
In a press conference last Thursday (8/04), Obama dismissed the clear implication that the cash payment was ransom. But his statements were exposed as a lie by former hostage Pastor Saeed Abedini.
Obama and Clinton choose lying as a strategy because it works for them. The influential media outlets barely cover their lies. Indeed, they often go out of their way to cover up their misdeeds.
INNOVATION AND ITS ENEMIES
On Monday (8/08), British Prime Minister Theresa May announced what is being called the “Frackpot” – to redirect some of the future profits of shale gas production to households, rather than councils.
[Note that in the UK and most countries, unlike the US, the government owns the mineral rights under a landowner’s land. Note also that – surprise – British environmentalists are denouncing May’s policy as a “bribe.” – JW]
After leaving the European Union, Britain will have to be quicker to adopt new technologies, the better to create wealth in the knowledge economy. For me that’s the biggest opportunity of Brexit.
But to grasp it we must find a way to persuade people to be more ready to embrace innovation and less suspicious. A country that can work out how to do that is going to steal a march on its rivals.
Innovation is the source of virtually all prosperity. It is the reason the average person now lives longer, feeds better, travels farther, is better entertained and sees more children survive than even a monarch did four centuries ago. A glance back through history shows that innovation nearly always does more good than harm.
So why is innovation so fiercely resisted?
THE ECONOMY AND THE CANDIDATES
Which presidential candidate’s policies are likely to cause higher growth?
Did you know that at an average economic growth rate of 2 percent it takes 35 years for incomes to double, while at a 4 percent growth rate it only takes 17.7 years for incomes to double?
At the moment, the United States is only growing at a rate of about 1 percent, and if no improvement comes it will take another 69.7 years — or a little less than one lifetime for incomes to double. At a growth rate of 4 percent, incomes will increase more than fourfold in the average lifetime.
Without moderately high rates of growth, there is no chance of reducing the debt, maintaining even a modest safety net, including medical and retirement programs, and creating more jobs at higher real wages. The good news is, in the absence of destructive economic policies, capitalist economies tend to grow rapidly.
There is extensive empirical evidence (and theory) of what works and what doesn’t. Let’s review it from Reagan to Obama.
HILLARY TRUMPS DONALD
Determined not to be outdone by her opponent after Donald Trump announced that he had been given a Purple Heart, Hillary Clinton appeared at campaign rally wearing all of the medals she has been given by her supporters. Thanks to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals declaring that the Stolen Valor Act was unconstitutional, Hillary supporters have been able to lavish all types of military decorations on the presidential candidate, including several Purple Hearts, the Congressional Medal of Honor, Victoria Cross, Order of Lenin, and the Knights Cross with Diamonds, Swords and Oak Leaves. The news media briefly paused from their negative coverage of Donald Trump to state how presidential Hillary Clinton looks with her justly deserved medals.
HALF-FULL REPORT 08/05/16
We start with a prayer. A year ago, we learned TTP’s Jack Kelly was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer and had but a few months to live. We asked you to pray for him. Jack is alive and well today.
This week we learned that TTPer Edd Forke’s wife Dona has been diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. You know Edd through his many marvelous comments on the Forum. He has become a personal friend to many, including me. Let’s put prayer to work for him and Dona. You can be sure they’ll read and appreciate any expression of support on the Forum. Thanks…
Laughter is considered the best medicine, and is also often the most effective criticism. The Laugh of the Week took place in the tiny hamlet of Arcadia, Iowa – population 460, halfway between Des Moines and Sioux City. It’s also an exposure of naked vulnerability – that the Lying Swine and the Democrats can dish it out, but they can’t take it…
Yesterday (8/04), NBCNews reported, “Trump Pushes Republican Party to Breaking Point.” I’ve been privy to private emails between heavy Pub hitters that say exactly the same thing. These are guys who desperately want Trump to win and prevent a PIAPS Presidency.
Trump’s behavior is so maddeningly frustrating to them especially now, with the Lying Swine making herculean efforts to magnify every Trump gaffe in order to cover up Obama-Clinton scandals.
The revolting spectacle of Dem operative and Sharia law advocate Khizr Khan, with his wife in a hijab silently next to him like a wooden Indian, was handed to Trump on a platter – as pointed out by USMC vet Chris Mark in a blistering take down of Khan…
There’s lots more in this HFR, lots of funny stuff too. And you won’t surprised at all who made our day as HFR Hero of the Week.
WHITE TRASH AND BLACK GIMMIDATS
Last Saturday (7/30), the New York Post published – next to a side bar with old photos of a naked Melania Trump – Why ‘White Trash’ Americans Are Flocking to Donald Trump.
Two days later on Monday (8/01), the New York Times published Black Lives Matter Coalition Makes Demands. Treating the OBLM – Only Black Lives Matter – with deference and respect, the libtards at the Times would be horrified at the suggestion their article should be entitled Why ‘Black Gimmidats’ Are Flocking to Hillary Clinton.
“White trash” is a racial slur on a par with the Forbidden N-word. If you Google it, you’ll get over 9 million hits. You’ll find thousands of articles arguing that Trump’s core supporters are “white trash.” The term is an overt sneer referring to “poor white people.”
On the other hand, you never see the term “black trash” referring to “poor black people.” Google has a lot of hits for it, but the vast majority of them refer to buying or supplying plastic black trash bags. Let’s substitute, then, the term “Black Gimmidats” for the OBLM crowd.
As we all know, from Hollywood movies to television series to books, academia, the media and pop culture, the one group of people it’s politically correct to be racist towards is whites.
So let’s state the obvious: the greatest and most destructive racial problem in America today is anti-white racism. Particularly so because of what such racist hatred is doing to whites themselves. It is causing them – from white limousine liberals to “check your privilege” white college kids to working-class whites who are now dying younger – to be auto-racist, racist towards themselves.
It is hard to think of anything that would improve life in America more than a cure for white auto-racism.
TRUMP’S ACE
Everything in America is pretty much hunky dory, President Barack Hussein Obama said in his speech at the Democrat National Convention, during which he mentioned the candidate he was endorsing 43 times, himself 119 times.
Most Americans don’t agree.
The people running the country don’t really care what happens to them, say 82 percent of respondents in a Harris poll. Most people in power are trying to take advantage of people like them, say 70 percent.
An alliance of politicians, media pundits, lobbyists and interest groups runs the country for their own gain, say 83 percent, according to pollster Pat Caddell.
“The old ways don’t work. It’s time for radical change,” agreed more than 70 percent in Quinnipiac swing state polls in July.
And who’s going to provide that – The Donald or the PIAPS?
WELFARE IS THE NEW WORK
Two recent news stories highlight how pernicious the welfare state has become in America today.
Fox News reported (7/18) that food-stamp groceries can be delivered right to a recipient’s door. In New York, the program is being called Fresh Direct – note the website has a convenient En Español button.
Service with a smile. The Obama administration says it is too much of a hardship for those on welfare to actually travel to the grocery store. What’s next? Cooking the meal for them? If only the DMV would do home deliveries for drivers licenses.
The second story is the hullabaloo over a proposal by Maine Governor Paul LePage to prohibit food stamp recipients from using their food aid to purchase junk foods like sugary soft drinks and candy bars. He says that the state has an obesity problem and he will “implement reform unilaterally or cease Maine’s administration of the food stamp program altogether.”
The Obama administration rejected his request and the left activists act as if a welfare recipient can’t stuff themselves with Mars bars and Mountain Dew at taxpayer expense, it’s a violation of civil liberties. The media in Maine promptly condemned LePage’s “food stamp recklessness” that shows “little respect for Maine’s poor.”
The welfare/entitlement state of mind has spiraled out of control in America. The cost of welfare is now well over $1 trillion a year.
