[This editorial was published in today’s Sept. 18 edition of the Wall Street Journal --JW]

The woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of a drunken assault when both were teenagers has now come forward publicly, and on Monday (9/17) it caused Republicans to delay a confirmation vote and schedule another public hearing.

Yet there is no way to confirm her story after 36 years, and to let it stop Mr. Kavanaugh’s confirmation would ratify what has all the earmarks of a calculated political ambush.

Ms. Ford’s story is simply too distant and uncorroborated to warrant a new hearing or to delay a vote. We’ve heard from all three principals, and there are no other witnesses to call. Democrats will use Monday’s (9/24) hearing as a political spectacle to coax Mr. Kavanaugh into looking defensive or angry, and to portray Republicans as anti-women. Odds are it will be a circus.

GOP Senators should understand that the political cost of defeating Mr. Kavanaugh will likely include the loss of the Senate. Democrats are already motivated to vote against Donald Trump, and if Republicans panic now their own voters will rightly be furious. They would be letting Democrats get away with the same dirty trick they tried and failed to pull off against Clarence Thomas.

HALF-FULL REPORT 09/14/18

peanuts-on-trumpCountdown to launch – 53 days to go until November 6.  First thing to do is watch and read then-candidate Trump’s historical battle cry in late October 2016, posted on TTP this morning: We Are At The Crossroads of History Again.

His election was a great battlefield victory in the war against the Hate America Left – but that war is far from won.  The next great do-or-die battle looms before us on November 6.

Also posted this morning on TTP is Michael Walsh’s soaringly eloquent, Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Dream.  The founding literature of Western Civilization is Homer’s Iliad, composed from centuries-old oral traditions around 700 BC.  It indeed starts with Homer’s immortal lines, which Walsh compares to the self-destructive rage of the Democrats today.

That’s just for openers.  This was an intense week, really bad for Google, Dems, the global libtard media, and good for the good guys.  Let’s go…

WE ARE AT THE CROSSROADS OF HISTORY AGAIN

[This 5½ minute “Crossroads of History” speech/video by then-candidate Donald Trump was made in the closing days of the 2016 campaign, late October.  This coming November we reach the same crossroads of history once again.  Please watch, read the speech text below, send it to every single person you know, then work for a Red Wave this November 6 as if your and your country’s future depended on it – for it does. –JW]

"Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American People.

The Washington Establishment and the financial and media corporations that fund it exist for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.

The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election. For those who control the levers of power in Washington, and for the global special interest, they partner with these people that don't have your good in mind.

Our campaign represents a true existential threat, like they haven't seen before. This is not simply another four year election. This is a crossroads in the history of our civilization that will determine whether or not we the people reclaim control over our government.

RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE DREAM

homers-museHomer’s Muse sings of the rage of Achilles, brought forth from his tent by the death of his friend Patroclus to engage the Trojan hero, Hector, in mortal combat.

But Achilles’ anger solves nothing; although he kills Hector, he then desecrates the body by dragging it around the walls of Troy, thus violating the laws of warfare and sealing his own fate.

His determination to avenge his friend thus becomes “the accursed rage that brought great suffering to the Achaeans.” In the end, it’s not the rage of Achilles that wins the war for the Greeks, but the trickery of Odysseus that finagles the wooden horse inside the impregnable gates of Ilium.

We are witnessing a similar self-destructive rage today: the rage of the American Left against the Trump Administration in general and the president in particular.

What besides a profound, educationally inculcated, and emotionally juvenile hatred for the United States motivates them to such paroxysms of hysteria?

PRESIDENT TRUMP DESERVES THE NOBEL PRIZE IN ECONOMICS

trump-tweet-091018This past week I asked a friend at the White House about how the president was holding up against the onslaught of media attacks. "They didn't even deliver a glancing blow," was the response. It wasn't for a lack of trying.

Has any president in modern times been the target of such a Blitzkrieg of orchestrated assaults -- from John McCain's funeral turned anti-Trump scrum, to Bob Woodward's discredited new book trashing the president, to the media infatuation with the anonymous New York Times op-ed by a disgruntled federal employee who hates President Trump?

Here we go again. Trump is (for the umpteenth time) characterized as dangerous, deranged, delusional, infantile, racist and amoral. But Trump is like Muhammad Ali playing rope-a-dope while George Foreman (the media) is flailing away and punching himself out.

For the bottom line is the surging Trump economy is the news story of the decade, for which the president is personally responsible no matter how much the media deny or ignore it.

MY STATE NEEDS A SENATOR FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS NOT THE GLOBAL ELITE

Josh Hawley with the President, Kansas City, Missouri, July 24, 2018

Josh Hawley with the President, Kansas City, Missouri, July 24, 2018

[The fate of America is at stake on November 6. We can achieve a Red Wave in the Senate by having outstanding pro-America candidates like Josh Hawley of Missouri defeat Democrat incumbents.--JW]

My grandfather was the first generation of our family born in the United States. His parents came to this country from Norway and became farmers, which is what my grandpa did too until the day he died.

Grandpa was fiercely proud to be an American citizen. He once told me his father wouldn’t teach him Norwegian because “this family is American now.” Grandpa never forgot it.

I haven’t forgotten it either. When you come to this country, you join a family – the American family. And in America, we stick up for one another, believe in one another, fight for one another.

Unfortunately, our ruling elite has given up on all that. They’ve become globalists first and Americans second. If you want to see Exhibit A, look at Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who I am running against in the November election.

HIMALAYAN 75

Western Cwm of Everest at 7,000m/23,000ft, Everest to left, Lhotse straight ahead

Western Cwm of Everest at 7,000m/23,000ft, Everest to left, Lhotse straight ahead

Well, this is sobering – at least for me.  Two months from now, I turn 75.

How did it get here that fast?  I haven’t a clue.  What I do know is that the older you get, the faster time goes by.  Which means, I better not slow down.

My attitude towards life is one of undiluted gratitude.  Each one of us is unbelievably lucky to be alive, to be conscious of and participate in this world.

And what a world it is.  The wonders of our world, and your capacity to experience them, are endless.

I’ve been granted by good fortune to experience so much of our world, every country on the planet in fact.  Yet there is one place more than any other that keeps calling me back:  the Himalayas.  So that is where I’ll celebrate my 75th.  Care to join me?

The highest, most staggeringly gigantic mountains on our earth are here, eight of them over 8,000 meters.  You see two of them, Everest, highest of all at 8850m/29,028ft, and Lhotse 4th highest at 8516m/27,932ft, above.  Here they are from a different angle, and  the other six. We go to them all – by the world’s best high-altitude helicopters.

ELIMINATING THE MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE

wifi-exposeOne the most common questions I get from both customers and everyday people is:  Tex, how can I protect myself when I’m on a public Wi-Fi?”

Well, per the security research group Pentura Labs the answer is straight-forward:  You can’t!

“The best possible advice is –  if you do not trust the WiFi AP, turn off WiFi and use your 3G/4G connection on your mobile or 3G/4G modem!”

In this article I want to arm my fellow TTP’ers with the real reasons why using public Wi-Fi is so dangerous, and as with all of these reports dispel a lot of common myths and misinformation you may have heard about.  Mostly, they involve a family of attacks known as “The Man-In-The-Middle.”

PATRIOT DAY

911-white-house-commemoration PATRIOT DAY, 2018 A PROCLAMATION BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

On Patriot Day, we honor the memories of the nearly 3,000 precious lives we lost on September 11, 2001, and of every hero who has given their life since that day to protect our safety and our freedom.

We come together, today, to recall this timeless truth: When America is united, no force on Earth can break us apart. Our values endure; our people thrive; our Nation prevails; and the memory of our loved ones never fades.

Although that fateful Tuesday 17 years ago began like any other, it erupted into horror and anguish when radical Islamist terrorists carried out an unprecedented attack on our homeland.

In New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, the enemies of liberty took aim on America, but their evil acts could not crush our spirit, overcome our will, or loosen our commitment to freedom.
