MR. OBAMA’S APPALLING BIZARRE NONSENSE ON MISSILE DEFENSE

As Governor, I fought the Obama Administration's plans to cut funds for missile defense in Alaska. So imagine how appalled and surprised I was to read this article by former Clinton CIA Director James Woolsey, appropriately titled "Giving Away the Farm," concerning President Obama's latest bizarre actions relating to missile defense.  President Obama wants to give Russia our missile defense secrets because he believes that we can buy their friendship and cooperation with this taxpayer-funded gift.  But giving military secrets and technologies to a rival or competitor like Russia is just plain dumb.   You can't buy off Russia.  And giving them advanced military technology will not create stability.  What happens if Russia gives this technology (or sells it!) to other countries like Iran or China?   After all, as Woolsey points out, Russia helped Iran with its missile and nuclear programs. Why is it that President Obama seems to work so hard to give things to our enemies, while at the same time asking friends and allies like Israel to make sacrifices?

HAS OBAMA DELIBERATELY HARMED ISRAELI COVERT OPS IN IRAN?

One of the secrets about Western trade with enemy states like Iran is that the Western companies trading with them may also wittingly or unwittingly serve as espionage assets for their home country or for other Western countries. The boycott drive against states like Iran uses a legalistic framework to deal with complex military challenges. And since the nail doesn't exactly fit the hole, it stands to reason that the damage sanctions can do to military or intelligence operations may in certain circumstances outweigh the benefit they bring to diplomatic operations. Late last month (5/24), the State Department announced that it was sanctioning the shipping company of Israel's richest family, the Ofer Brothers, for reportedly violating US law by trading with Iran.  Ever since, there has been a deluge of news reports alleging that the Ofer Brother's ships were used by the Mossad and perhaps the IDF to infiltrate and exfiltrate agents into and out of Iran.  There are number of troubling aspects to this story.

CAN MR. OBAMA SAY ANYTHING THAT ISN’T UNTRUE?

President Barack Hussein Obama visited the Jeep plant in Toledo, Ohio last Friday (6/03) to tout the alleged economic benefits of his bailout of Chrysler. The bailout kept the Jeep plan open, the president told workers there.   Not only that, "This plant indirectly supports hundreds of other jobs right here in Toledo," he added. "After all, without you, who'd eat at Chet's or Inky's or Rudy's?" This week Richard Lawrence, co-owner of New Chet's restaurant, announced it was closing its doors after 90 years. So much for indirect benefits.  What Mr. Obama said at the Jeep plant  "is one of the most misleading collections of assertions we have found in a short presidential speech," wrote the Washington Post's fact checker, Glenn Kessler.  "Virtually every claim made by the president concerning the auto industry deserves an asterisk, just like the fine print in that too-good-to-be-true car loan."

WHY OBAMA WILL BE A ONE-TERM PRESIDENT

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  There's hardly a better vantage point to see why Zero's re-election chances are zero than here. This is a ridiculous place.  Humorless, irredeemably boring, five million regimented people living in a desert wasteland that has no excuse for a city other than its rulers have countless billions of our dollars to spend on building it because here is where their fathers and their camels came from. No one would pay the slightest attention to this place if it weren't for oil - and the hundreds of billions that we pay them, via buying their oil, to spread their Wahhabi religious poison all over the earth. There are few things a US president could do to simultaneously and substantially improve our economy and our national security than to enable us and the world to be less dependent on Saudi oil by allowing maximal domestic oil & gas production right here in America. As we all know, Zero is doing precisely the opposite.  He is conducting a War on Oil - just ask most anyone in Louisiana for proof - instead.   He's also conducting a War on Jobs - just ask anyone unemployed.  And a War on Business - just ask any entrepreneur.  And a War on the Dollar - just ask anyone who buys food and gasoline. Yet Zero's War on the American Economy is not his greatest vulnerability - for there is another factor that will play an even larger role in his being a one term president.  In fact, it will ensure his failure to get re-elected.

THE SPECTACLE OF ANTI-PALIN SNARKING

The dimwit ditz has struck again.  The anchors on the cable news shows could barely contain their glee as they reported on Sarah Palin's latest gaffe. As the former Alaska governor emerged with her family from a visit to the Old North Church in Boston, reporters asked her if she knew who Paul Revere was. "He who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms," Ms. Palin responded. "Of course, Revere was in fact trying to warning Samuel Adams and John Hancock about the approaching British army," snarked Sheila Marikar of ABC News. Ms. Palin is a "ninny pretending to be a leader of this country without having much understanding of history," snarked Rick Ungar of Forbes magazine. Liberal snarking was interrupted when historians said Sarah Palin was right.

THE EMPLOYMENT FORMULA: LESS GOVERNMENT SPENDING = MORE JOBS

President Obama and many in his administration, as well as the Democrats left in Congress, keep expressing bewilderment as to why the economy is not producing the jobs they had promised with their "stimulus program." The problem is that their model of what is supposed to happen is wrong, and it has been known to be wrong for decades. In essence, they are fixated on the old Keynesian idea that government spending can create jobs. Milton Friedman, F.A. Hayek, plus many other Nobel Laureates and other fine economists such as Harvard's Robert Barro, have demonstrated that the concept is dead wrong and neither works in theory or practice. Yet, because it gave politicians a rationale to spend more of other people's money, it is a bad idea that has never died.

HALF-FULL REPORT 06/03/11

No doubt, this has been the punniest week of modern times.  We're talking about - of course - Weinergate. Ask just about any Pub on Capitol Hill who he or she thinks is the most straight-out obnoxious loud-mouthed partisan jerk in the whole of Congress, and even though there's a lot of competition they'll invariably say, "Weiner." Or they'll simply say his nickname by which he's known all over the Hill:  "Little"......   *  *  *  *  *  * Time for a HFR Emergency Alert.  Calling all Texas TTPers!  Immediate action requested! Here is a Court Order issued by Federal District Court Judge Fred Beiry against a Medina Valley High School in Castroville, Texas (a community west of San Antonio and Lackland Air Force Base.  Specifically, Judge Beiry orders that:

THE DEMOCRATS ARE A CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, NOT A POLITICAL PARTY

On Tuesday (5/31), Ron Paul announced that "we are on the verge of having way too much dictatorship in Washington, D.C."  Verge?  Verge?? The time is way past for verging.  Our Federal Government has already become a dictatorship run by a criminal conspiracy calling itself a political party - just as the totalitarian conspiracy of Islamism calls itself a religion. We owe no respect whatever to a fascist ideology posing as a religion - and we owe no respect whatever to a criminal gang posing as a political party. The time is way past for ending the charade.  If it is not ended now - if the Democrat Gang retains the White House in 2012 - then game over for America. We'll itemize a few of the legion of examples of the Gang's criminality - but at the outset, let's clearly state the purpose here.  It is of mortal importance for our future that we deny legitimacy to the Democrats.  They are not a legitimate political party advocating legitimate political goals.  They are a collection of looters, gangsters, thugs, extortionists, hustlers, shakedown specialists, scam artists, smooth-talking con-men, and mafiosi.  All banded together to steal our money and control our lives with guns.

CANADA IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Serving as an active Member of Parliament in Canada, and Chairman of both the Parliament's Standing Committees on Foreign Affairs & International Development, and  on International Trade, I have had the unique opportunity to participate firsthand in the changes that our Conservative Government has implemented since taking power. These changes have made our country more competitive on the commercial scene and more attractive for investors.  But we intend to do more. Since the Conservatives first came to office in 2006, we have cut taxes and removed barriers that have previously served to not only stifle business development, but to actually drive it away.   We did this as a minority government, governing with a coalition of parties as we did not have an absolute majority of seats.  That changed with last month's elections on May 2, when Conservatives won 167 out of the 308 seats in Parliament.  This frees us to cut taxes and remove stifling barriers more than ever.

BALKAN HOPE

Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. This is a beautiful place with a tragic history. As Communist Yugoslavia broke up after the fall of the Soviet Union, a Serbian nationalist by the name of Ratko Mladic commanded the Serbian forces that not only killed many residents in Sarajevo, but is said to have conducted the massacre of over 8,000 Bosnian men and boys in the Bosnian city of Srebrenica in July 1995. Mladic was captured in Serbia last week (5/26) and now is in Scheveningen Prison in the Hague, awaiting a war-crimes trial. The evening after the announced capture of Mr. Mladic, there did not appear to be much in the way of celebration that one might have expected in Sarajevo. Many young Bosnians, both men and women, were in the bars and restaurants having a good time as they do on most summer weekends. Good Moslems are not supposed to drink but, even though Bosnia is a majority-Moslem country, most seem to be far from rigorous in following their faith.. As one young Bosnian who had been wounded in the war said to me, "Most of us now are more interested in building our lives than we are following the religion of our ancestors and fighting old grudges."  There's hope now for the Balkans.
