The Pelosicrats' vote to approve Obamacare Sunday (3/21) was historic.  But Democrat euphoria may be premature.  Prohibition was historic, too.  But few look back upon it as a good idea. Sunday's vote means Obamacare is likely to be a major issue not just in the upcoming midterms, but for many elections to come.  Obamacare will be hard to repeal, but not as hard to repeal as Prohibition, which required a constitutional amendment. Democrats are telling themselves people will like Obamacare once it's enacted.  But to believe that requires the kind of faith that sustains belief in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.

With the advantage of increased bandwidth in our broadband delivery, it enables the opportunity for faster, deeper theft of your personal files, bank accounts, private documents, business papers etc. Remember, there are no secrets on the internet. If you keep personal data, SSN, bank accounts, tax returns in a digital form on your hard drive then they are potentially bait for theft. If 10,000 SSN'S are stolen and sold at $35 a pop, that's a cool $350K in theft. Starting to see the picture? It's not some kid hacker with a new tool, it's organized criminals from around the globe stealing you blind. The theft has become so efficient that few protective applications will validate or find these intrusions. This is particularly true regarding what are known as P2P, or peer-to-peer networks.  You may be connected to one.

There's so much cool stuff to talk about this week - but first I've got to clear up a confusion.   We normally have two Rendezvous a year, winter and summer.  This year, we're adding a third, the San Diego Spring Rendezvous, May 14-16. A number of folks are hesitating about this as they think there'll still be another in the summer.  Obviously, I should have explained this earlier:  There will not be a Summer Rendezvous this year.  I will be traveling - South America, Asia, and Europe - August through October.  The next Rendezvous after San Diego in May will be The Victory Celebration Rendezvous in Washington DC, November 5-7. That's the weekend after the November 2 elections, and we should have a lot to celebrate.  But there's a long meantime between now and then - even longer if you consider the total gap between the San Antonio Rendezvous last January and next November.  So - the only way to see your fellow TTPers, and get a deep grasp of what's happening to our country and in the world, without waiting all the way to late next fall, is to join us in sunny San Diego in May.  Capiche? Wouldn't it be ironic if the death blow to Obamacare were delivered in part because of President Barack Hussein Obama's gratuitous snub of the Supreme Court? On Jan. 21, the Supreme Court ruled the provision in the McCain-Feingold law that forbade corporations from buying political ads was unconstitutional. "Last week the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests -- including foreign companies -- to spend without limit in our elections," President Obama said in his State of the Union address Jan 27.  "Well, I don't think American elections should be bankrolled by America's most powerful interests, and worse, by foreign entities." The president is entitled to his opinion, which many share.  But, said columnist Kevin McCullough, it was "terribly inappropriate when he openly encouraged belligerent reaction against the Supreme Court with the Justices sitting in the chamber.  It was a cheap shot, and scholars believe it may have violated the spirit embodied in our government's commitment to the separation of powers." So what does this have to do with Obamacare?

If President Obama and Congress have their way with the so-called health reform bill, the American people will have had their pocketbooks and liberties plundered once again. The basic purpose of government is to protect individuals and their property and to ensure their liberties. However, Congress and most other legislative bodies spend the bulk of their time doing just the opposite. They take, primarily through taxation, from one group of people what those people worked hard to produce and give it to some other politically favored group. They pass a never-ending series of regulations, which chip at our liberties until little is left. When Congress seizes your money, it claims to be creating jobs by giving it to someone else who did not earn it. There is more honesty among those in the Mafia, who at least do not try to claim they are stealing from us for our own good.
