A DEMON FACING AMERICA

Etosha Pan, Namibia.
o_demon.png
This is the current edition of a Namibian weekly paper distributed throughout Southern Africa.  As you can see, the cover story is A Demon Facing Africa.  While it is ostensibly about a program of Zero's called Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI), the story makes it clear that the Demon is Zero himself as the chief agent of American imperialism. This is true cosmic irony, as one of the largest demons inhabiting Zero's soul is his hatred of America and Britain for White Western Imperialism regarding Kenya. Yet it is too easy to engage in the obverse opportunity to accuse Barack Obama of being The Demon Facing America.  For that is only ostensibly true.  He is the apotheosis of the Demon, but not the Demon himself. The Demon we are talking about has been the curse of most nations throughout history.  It is the real Demon facing almost every country in Africa, of which the anti-American idiots of The Southern Times haven't an inkling.  It is the Demon that America's Founders created America to suppress.  It is the Demon that America's Left is dedicated to unleashing.  And today, Barack Hussein Obama is the Demon's hero. The Etosha Pan is a wonderful place to forget about all of this.   Here is where you witness Africa Primeval.  It is simply breathtaking to watch a leopard stalk a wildebeest from yards away:

TIME WELL SPENT

Time present and time past Are both perhaps present in time future, And time future contained in time past. - T.S. Eliot, "Burnt Norton"
Time is a continuous, objectively measurable forward movement. We measure it with the rotation of the earth, the orbit of the earth about the sun, and the tilt of her axis relative to that sun as we make our way about it, seen through the changing seasons. While the mechanics of time in a basic way are well understood, our experience of time and our relationship to time is complex, and can hold the key to our experience of life itself. Phil Zimbardo, professor emeritus of Stanford and author of The Time Cure, (famous also for the Stanford Prison Experiment, a classic study in our susceptibility to the abuse of power), describes six different time orientations.  Our happiness is dependent to a large degree on our relationship to them.

WHY TURKEY WANTS CHAOS AS DOES IRAN

For most Westerners, Turkey is a hard nut to crack. How can you understand a state sponsor of terrorism that is also a member of NATO? How can you explain Turkey's facilitation of Kurdish independence in Iraq in light of Turkey's hundred-year opposition to Kurdish independence? What is Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyep Erdogan trying to accomplish here?  The answer is chaos - just like Iran albeit with a very different objective. On the terrorism support front, today Turkey vies with Iran for the title of leading state sponsor of terrorism.  Here's the explanation.

HOW THE NEW DEMOGRAPHY OF WAR IS HELPING ISRAEL

The current political and military upheavals in the Middle East are producing new and far-reaching demographic realities.  They are primarily due to Bashar Assad's desperation to keep power at any cost. Assad and his ruling clique are Alawites, a Shiite sect, while the rebels opposing him are primarily Sunnis.  He thus has a policy of ethnically and religiously cleansing Syria of Sunnis.  This includes the Palestinians in Syria.  The impact his policy is having on neighboring countries like Lebanon and Jordan is tremendous - and often counter-intuitive. So much so that various communities in the Levant and even in Libya are now expressing a positive attitude toward Israel and repudiating pan-Arabism.  Here's what's going on and why.

THE VA SCANDAL KEEPS GROWING

More than 1,000 vets may have died over the last decade because of delayed or improper care, Sen. Tom Coburn, R-OK, a physician, charged in a lengthy report Tuesday (6/24).
Drug dealing, theft and even murder are “pervasive” at VA facilities, he said.
Many VA nurses spend their days working on union activities, not caring for patients, Sen. Coburn said. Because it’s all but impossible to fire them, an increasing number of VA employees don’t bother to come to work at all.
The coverup of waiting lists “is just the tip of the iceberg, reflecting a perverse culture within the department where veterans are not always the priority and data and employees are manipulated to maintain an appearance that all is well,” Sen. Coburn said.

THE COLD FACTS ABOUT REALITY DENIERS

The gullible give in to the government's global-warming myth {youtube}tiO68V45bjY{/youtube} "Wasting Resources on a potential threat ignores problems at hand." Much of the media treat those who are skeptics about man-made global warming with the pejorative term "global-warming deniers," as if they were Holocaust deniers. Yet many of those in the media who watched presidential spokesperson Jay Carney engage in what can only politely be called "reality denial" day after day were-all-too silent about his obvious misstatements. Reality deniers get away with many of their fibs because...

HALF-FULL REPORT 06/20/14

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) attacked oilfields in Iraq this week, prompting fears of $200 a barrel oil, and seized Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons facility. President Barack Hussein Obama held a news conference yesterday (6/19) to give the appearance of action, but has yet to do anything that might stem the murder spree. The IRS scandal metastasized; the Army will investigate why Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl left his post; the VA scandal got a whole lot worse; the administration's claim that 8 million have enrolled in Obamacare imploded; the administration's encouragement of illegal immigration by Central American children has created a major health hazard in the Southwest, and, to distract attention from all of the above, Zero found a "squirrel" in Benghazi. Heckuva time for Jack Wheeler to be on safari.

OH WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE…

Lying takes a huge toll on our relationships, our physical health, and our mental health. But sometimes we’re not so clear about what it means to be honest. Does it mean we say everything that we think or feel?

There are very strong benefits to honesty; and also some common sense guidelines as to what’s appropriate to express.

Let’s start with outright lying. Americans lie an average of...

IN BENGHAZI, THE WHITE HOUSE FINDS A TERRORIST WHO WASN’T HIDING

The Obama administration has been “dishonest” about the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, said 61 percent in a CNN/ORC poll released Monday (6/16). That’s remarkably high, considering how little coverage there’s been of this scandal.
The next day, the administration announced capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala, leader in Benghazi of an Islamist militia affiliated with al Qaida which claimed credit for the attack.
In the 22 months since Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed, journalists have had little difficulty locating Mr. Khattala.
He “spent two leisurely hours on Thursday evening at a crowded luxury hotel, sipping a strawberry frappe on a patio and scoffing at the threats coming from the American and Libyan governments,” said David Kirkpatrick of the New York Times in October, 2012.
“Ahmed Khattala didn't look like a wanted man, sipping mango juice across the table from me in a Benghazi hotel,” said Elizabeth Palmer of CBS News.

FLAT-FOOTED IN IRAQ

Iraq will go down in history as one of President Barack Obama's greatest achievements, said Vice President Joe Biden in 2010, cementing his reputation as the biggest dunce ever to serve in that office. An Islamist army headed by a man who was in U.S. custody until Mr. Obama became president has reached the outskirts of Baghdad, the headless corpses of more than 1,000 men, women and children strewn in its wake. Our embassy staff is being evacuated.

By the summer of 2008, al Qaida in Iraq had been soundly defeated. Attacks on U.S. troops had all but stopped; sectarian violence had been reduced to a trickle. The troop surge had worked.
No world leader ever before, no matter how feckless, has ever lost a war his predecessor had won.
