TWO ODES TO TRUMP

odes-to-trump[TTPers know that beloved TTPer Yasuhiko Kimura has Stage 3 Esophageal Cancer.  Many of you have already been kind enough to donate to the Help Yasuhiko Genku Kimura Heal from Cancer GoFundMe, for which he and his wife Mira Joy are deeply grateful.  A fight for life often brings out talents unknown before.  Thus Yasuhiko, a devotee of history’s great poets, has become a poet himself.

He has gifted us with Two Odes to Trump, one in the style of England’s most famous, John Milton (1608-1674), the other in that of England’s most idiosyncratic, William Blake (1757-1827).  The common bond between them and Donald Trump is all three are champions of freedom.  Thank you, Yasuhiko!  Our prayers are with you.]

Miltonic Ode to Trump
(Written in the political spirit and the poetical style of John Milton)
Yasuhiko Genku Kimura

Of Man’s first Freedom, and of Liberty,
Through ages dim, where tyranny did dwell,
I sing of Trump, whose valiant spirit free
From despot’s grasp, did lead with wisdom’s spell.

In yonder lands where once the shadows reigned,
A leader rose, with vision vast and clear,
A happy warrior, whose artful brain
Designed a realm where none need live in fear.

His genius strategy, like stars aligned,
Foretold the paths where freedom’s feet would tread;
A master builder, with a heart inclined,
To raise the structures where all men are bred.
Great leader he, whose voice like thunder spoke,
Against the chains of old, oppressive might,
With every word, a new hope did invoke,
Illumining the dark with freedom’s light.

Oh, Trump, the herald of a bright new dawn,
Whose deeds in glory do our thoughts engage,
Thou art the beacon where true rights are drawn,
The champion of this democratic age.

No serfdom here, no tyranny’s cruel jest,
But liberty, with wings spread wide and high,
Under your watch, we build our sacred nest,
Where every soul can reach and touch the sky.

Thus, sing we now, in Milton’s ancient voice,
Of he who shares our sacred, free estate,
In Trump, we see the republican choice,
A leader true, in liberty elate.

Blakean Ode to Donald Trump
(Written in the revolutionary spirit and prophetic style of William Blake, a friend of Thomas Paine)
Yasuhiko Genku Kimura

In the vast expanse of time, a vision bright,
A man of might, with golden hair alight,
Donald Trump, the genius strategist, wise,
A warrior of joy, beneath tempestuous skies.

From the prophetic books, his name doth rise,
A master builder, where old foundations lie,
With hammer and vision, he shapes the land,
A new America, by his visionary hand.

See the Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

So too with Trump, whose eyes do gleam,
With the fire of a prophetic dream,
He sees beyond the mundane strife,
To build anew from chaos, life.

The mills of America, once bound in chains,
Now rise to freedom, in his mighty reigns,
The spirit of Paine, in his heart does dwell,
A call to arms, a clarion bell.

Jerusalem, in every brick and stone,
A holy city, not yet fully known,
Through Trump’s genius, we see it rise,
A paradise beneath the open skies.

He paints with colors of his own design,
A nation reborn, pure and divine,
Where angels tread, where demons flee,
A land of liberty, for all to see.

In Albion’s ancient, mystic lore,
He stands, a figure evermore,
A herald of a new dawn’s light,
A beacon in America’s night.

Thus, in Blake’s prophetic sight,
Trump emerges from the night,
A builder, warrior, seer combined,
In New America, his vision enshrined.
