You read in yesterday’s TTP (1/02) the stakes involved today with the GOP having the slimmest House majority since 1931.  That Trump-supported Johnson has to have an absolute majority of 218 to be reelected Speaker with a 219R-215D 119th Congress.  So if one more GOP Member-elect joins Massie the vote of 217-216 doesn’t count.

That it takes a Speaker to swear the 119th in, so without a Speaker they are all 434 of them still Members-elect.  Thus unable to participate in Congress’ Jan 6 confirmation of Trump’s Electoral Vote making it legally possible for him to be Inaugurated on Jan 20.

The really crazy thing is that Massie is doing this just out of spite, for no one else is challenging Johnson for Speaker and all he’ll say is he wants “someone else.”

 

I am writing this early this morning, with the 119th convening at Noon.  As we await what happens, let’s recall how we got into this ridiculous mess to begin with.  We learned how 4 weeks ago in HFR 12/06/24. Remember this lead photo?

Not one Republican won anywhere in the country when there was post-election late counting.  Always the Dem won.  Incumbent Michelle Steel in CA45 was 11,000 votes ahead after Election Day – then in came thousands of mail-in ballots of which Dems printed up to ensure her loss.  Day by day, inch by inch the vote count shrank for her.  Three weeks later (11/27) came the result:  losing by 586 out of 315,612.

Same with incumbent John Duarte in CA13: losing by 187 out  210, 921 after four weeks of fraud counting (12/04).

The point is that the RNC never challenged any of these vote frauds in court – especially in CA where it is illegal to show voter ID.  The GOP has totally itself to blame for this impossibly stupid farce.

mike-johnson-re-elected-house-speakerIt’s now mid-afternoon and you know the news.  It was touch and go, with the first ballot seemed to be two votes short (216), but then Johnson had a closed-off talk with the holdouts, Keith Self (TX) and Ralph Norman (SC) – no one paid attention to Massie – with a report that Johnson got them on the phone with El Donaldo.

That’s what it took, for them to change their votes to Johnson, giving him 218 for the first ballot win.  So, big win for the good guys – with Massie the House Pariah.

What an evil nightmare to start New Year’s, when at 3:15AM an ISIS Islamic Terrorist ploughed his pickup truck through a crowd of celebrants on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.  Shamsud Din Jabbar’s truck was adorned with an ISIS flag, and his stated intention in his slaughter was to “start a war between believers and non-believers.”

And once again is America forced to confront the inhuman barbarism of radical Islam.  He lived in a trailer in Houston, where the FBI found an open Koran on a stand.  The final lines on the open page tell of the promise of paradise for those who kill and are martyred in the name of Allah: “They fight in Allah’s cause, and slay and are slain; a promise binding,” reported The Times of London, England.

Yet at the same time, England is confronting an Islamic barbarism that is unimaginable in horror and scope.  Watch as Lord Malcom Pearson stuns his peers in the British House of Lords:

Well, we’re not going to make Britain or Canada part of the USA – but that’s what Trump wants for Greenland.  How come?

It so happens that I’ve been there close to 20 times – visiting the Inuit community of Qaanaaq – and once to Thule Air Base (now Pituffik Space Base) with Clint Eastwood as his Arctic Location Advisor for his movie Firefox. We once ended up all by ourselves on top of a huge iceberg.

That’s why I have to laugh when T47’s critics ridicule his claim that US ownership of Greenland is a “national security necessity.”   “Defend it from whom?” they ask.

It’s a simple answer:  China.

Note that the shortest sea routes from China to North America – the Northwest Passage – and from Europe to China – the Northwest Passage – are  both on the either side of Greenland.

The CCP government in Beijing calls these routes the Polar Silk Road.

And I’m sure you recall how many times over the years on TTP I’ve talked about Chinese Siberia – the eventual seizure of eastern Siberia from Russia

So take a look at this TikTok clip a China expert sent me, who tells me: “This clip with millions of hits in China calls for China to take over Siberia, Lake Baikal, Sakhalin and other parts of Russia after it loses in Ukraine then falls apart.”  Exactly what I’ve been predicting.

By the way, I hope you read Bonnie Girard’s Can China Ever Weed Out Corruption In Its Military? on Wednesday (1/01).  There was this quote from one of the most powerful generals in the PLA: “No country can defeat China… Only our own corruption can destroy us and cause our armed forces to be defeated without fighting.”

What a golden opportunity for T47 to work with Taiwan to buy off key PLA officers to sabotage in a hundred ways large and small China’s invasion of Taiwan.  After all, one of their top generals just said they were for sale…

We close with something that made me cry.  The people of Georgia are protesting the theft of their freedom and their country by Putin’s Russia with enormous peaceful demonstrations in the capital of Tbilisi and other cities.  America is their inspiration.

Watch as they sing the Star-Spangled Banner in front of the Parliament Building, in praise of US sanctions against their illegal government.

Our country is the hope and inspiration of all freedom-seeking people in the world.  This year of 2025, we have opportunity to live up to our values, to be a country we can be proud of again, to be the heroic people that the rest of the world wants us to be.
