BASIC MAKE-READY FOR URBAN UNREST: PART THREE
For the first part of the series, go here.
For Part Two, go here.
The Donald has seen His Royal Senescence and the giggler, Cackling Death, off from the White Place and has begun implementing the agenda that he ran on. We are pleased, but continue in our conviction that this is going to get ugly.
We are already seeing the goons of La Raza and those supporting murderous Hamas lining the streets of American cities, and we are seeing push back in Federal agencies against DJT’s attempts to clean house.
The latter are reeling from the shock and awe brought by the Trump Team, but they may find their feet at any time and this much-needed housecleaning will continue for years.
This is not going to be easy; many, many traitors have been bred here, and many invaders have been let in and we will have to deal with them. Once they think, together with their globalist allies, that they can go up a notch with street fighting and violence, they will try it.
They are likely uncertain right now of (1) the level of backing they will get, and (2) the willingness of the new Administration, as well as local officials, to kick the tires and light the fires in response.
The T-Team has come in like gangbusters – this is not your grampa’s GOP – but much of the GOP in Congress still is, and the black underbelly of the Left is no less determined to destroy the West. It will regroup.
Blue cities and states will be the easiest places to get away with violence starting off, and this already seems to be happening in Los Angeles.
We will be shifting gears in this conclusion to the series. In the previous two, we talked about some very personal and basic items that assumed you were caught out somewhere by The Mob and had to get away or make the best of a very bad situation with a hostile local government in charge.
In this one, we will examine ways to deal with the situation while working with the system and not despite it.
This assumes that your home or business is in a red area—preferably, a red state—with a government you can reasonably count on to be part of the solution and not the problem.
You will notice a difference in tone here, as well as this being more of an administrative guide.
You may be a business franchise owner, the head of an apartment complex, a small town police chief, or just an ordinary Joe or Jane with some good neighbors. Take what you need here, adapt it to your situation, and go with God.
We’ve talked about the basics of self-defense, tactical awareness, and some tactics for the gravest of extremes you may encounter in a riot.
Those articles were far from everything you can or should know, and you should make sure that you are well read, or are getting there, on those and similar subjects, and are ready to focus on a bigger picture.
For this, you need a series of plans, detailed below.
You have, by reading the last two articles, been Deuced to the level where you have the perspective to begin to fill in your own blanks here.
I have provided some links and ideas to get you going. Being a good TTP reader, you have the intelligence to push this further.
Legal plans: You need to meet with your lawyer and the people insuring your business or property to get a solid feel of the latitude you will have to protect it. Like it or not, this will be a factor in the post-game show.
You should also have a dialogue with your law enforcement responders on their plans to address any riots in your area. It might pay to involve your neighborhood, business, or homeowner’s association.
If in advance you find out you have a police chief who is a babbling mess now trying to hide all of its/that’s/they’s BLM, Communist, Palestinian, and Antifa flags that the “kaiju” had hanging all over the office, you already know this will be a serious factor in planning, or if a (legal) plan is even possible other than to run away.
If the city council’s denizens look like the creatures at the Mos Eisley Cantina, remember that they probably control the police. Don’t think any of this will go easily, or fairly.
Licensed security providers may bring options to protect your stuff that you won’t be able to do yourself. For a price….
A firefighting plan. Mobs love to set things on fire, and they probably will have incendiaries like Molotov cocktails (original: roofing tar and motor oil, 50-50) and other stuff.
Does your location have water hoses available? Water may not deal with incendiaries well enough by itself; sand or specialized fire extinguishers will be needed.
Safety gear. In the last round of riots we saw materials to be used as projectiles being staged in cities before the riots. The next wave will be similarly well equipped.
Other tricks they like to do include using slingshots with glass marbles (“wrist rockets”) and lasers to aim at people’s eyes. Safety goggles are available to deal with the lasers.
Depending on your level of exposure, you may need to think about helmets or shields.
Do not assume they won’t have guns this time—you should consider ballistic armor as well.
You will, if you are in a riot area, be getting residual whiffs or possibly faces full of tear gas even if you aren’t the intended target. Do you have gas masks? And the ability and knowledge to decontaminate yourself or others?
A force plan.
- Guns: Obvious, but they are all-or-nothing, deadly force tools. Using specialized non-lethal ammunition may make them more useful, but legally you will probably still be firing a bullet. You may need special training to use these correctly.
- Pepperball systems. One of the best non-lethal items to come along in recent years, these are paint pellet guns firing a special non-lethal projectile. Byrna makes them too. I would look hard at these. Generally, they are available to everyone.
- Tear gas and pepper spray. Both are generally available to the public in smaller units, with larger ones usually law enforcement-only sales. State law will probably come in here. (If you have a detained rioter, you will need to decontaminate and medically treat them).
- High pressure hoses: If you have these available, they can be useful to repel boarders. Double-duty for firefighting.
- Specialized anti-disturbance gear such as bright lights (aim at the bad guys to disorient and intimidate them) and LRADS.
- Good old fashioned sticks, axe handles, batons, and other impact tools. Remember, for you these may be considered clubs, and probably deadly weapons.
- Non-lethal electrical tools, to include Axon TASERs and other types of contact stunning tools.
A documentation plan.
Going with all of this, once the disturbance starts and you begin your response to it, you need to document everything you are doing in response and the reasons why.
This will be a “log” of evidence that will be needed later for prosecution of any bad guys and to defend yourself against any “lawfare” attempts by the other side, who, following their tuning-up, will try to get their lawyers (some of them may be directly involved) to do what their Molotov cocktails could not.
This will also be needed for insurance claims. You should have cameras rolling and designate people to film encounters rather than handle weapons, if possible.
Security cameras on your perimeter should be continuously documenting actions and conditions of the opposing force as well as your responses, but will probably be targeted by rioters.
You need to also think about securing any video or other evidence against it being taken and “lost” by hostile authorities, perhaps transmitting directly to the Cloud.
A medical plan.
As mentioned above, you will need to treat yourself and your stakeholders (and if you arrest or detain anyone, them as well). Know your limits.
If you are a trained EMT, nurse, doctor, or paramedic, you know it. If you are everyone else, have your basic first aid training and supplies and then work out the best plan you can have to get more care if needed.
In particular, I would be ready to treat gunshot wounds and burns, which are almost guaranteed to need advanced care. But, the first rule of medicine is: Do no harm. Which leads to…
An evacuation plan.
Can you withdraw injured people or all of you from your location, under pressure, if needed?
This assumes you have the means of transport as well as the route. It is in this scenario where you are most likely, in my opinion, to have to use force.
There’s a Chinese proverb about avoiding trouble by not being there to start with. Really, how defensible is your location? Be ruthless in your calculations.
A barrier plan.
One of the best ways to minimize the damage rioters can do to your home, business, or neighborhood is to limit their access.
These barriers can include numerous options, to include:
Fences and gates, which will only withstand a certain amount of damage before giving way.
Purpose-built barriers, which are usually expensive and built to keep vehicles and people out.
Barrier material, to include barbed and concertina wire.
Natural obstacles, such as lakes, heavy forest, hills and cliffs, or heavy materials that are hard to move or burn out of the way that can be used to limit movement.
Loaded dumpsters or vehicles that have been disabled can be used for this, particularly junked ones. But, beware anything you are using here that is flammable.
Also, make sure you can get out if you need to in an evacuation. Prepare for barrier-removal.
The bad guys may put these up to obstruct your business or vehicles. Do you have saws, jaws, or other tools that can cut chains? Special gloves to handle barbed and concertina wire? Bolt cutters? Can you dig out the road that leads up to your house with your back hoe?
A supply plan.
You will need everything from toilet paper to food to medical supplies to extra fire extinguishers and pepper spray for the event. You can assume that stores and businesses nearby may be destroyed or closed indefinitely afterwards. Stock up accordingly.
An arrest plan.
Depending on your state laws, your unique situation, and your capabilities you may be faced with the choice of letting an interloping rioter run amok having committed a crime against you, or not.
If you detain them, you will need to consider a whole host of other things, including their care and well-being until you can hand them off to authorities.
You will need purpose-built restraints and somewhere secure to keep them.
This is one heck of a lot—for anyone, and most definitely for an individual or family that is just trying to keep food on the table.
Scale everything here to your situation, and ruthlessly estimate your true capabilities.
At the least, you may be able to work these considerations into your long term security plans, and in particular not being on a bulls-eye where you may wind up eyeball to eyeball with those who stink and are dangerous.
