THE POTUS EPIPHANY

Our POTUS is a New Yorker, born and raised. He is an inveterate reader of the New York Post.  After absorbing this morning’s cover story, here is what he posted at 9:35am on Truth Social.  The President has had an epiphany.

Which was followed by these juxtaposed photos with no comment – POTUS and Putin in Anchorage, and the famous one of Vice-President Nixon during his “Kitchen Debate” with Soviet Ruler Nikita Khrushchev in 1959.

The Post reported on Putin continuing to bomb and kill civilians in Ukraine in the days following his Anchorage summit with Trump – but not what happened last night (8/20-21):

Putin launched the most massive onslaught ever, 574 Shahed drones and 40 missiles, including 4 Kinzhals, 2 Iskander-Ms, 19 Kh-101s, and 14 Kalibrs. Ukraine’s air defenses downed 546 drones and 31 missiles, but strikes hit 11 sites all over Ukraine causing death and destruction.

That was the last straw for POTUS when he learned of this early this morning – with something added.

That was Mr. USSR, Putin’s Foreign Secretary Sergei Lavrov who showed up at Anchorage wearing a shirt emblazoned with CCCP, Cyrillic letters for USSR, as you learned in last Friday’s HFR:

As this morning’s London Telegraph reported: Trump Claimed Peace Was Closer Than Ever. Then Lavrov Threw A Hand Grenade.

Lavrov yesterday had a Moscow press conference in which he made clear Putin was sticking to his “maximalist” demands for a “peace” settlement that amount to this:

What made all this clear – including why he wore that CCCP/USSSR shirt in Anchorage – was his refusing to recognize Ukraine’s very existence, and reiterating the old Kremlin agitprop of its government being only a “current regime” that was illegitimate because it was “neo-Nazi.”

 “I think that Ukraine first wants to receive guarantees from the West for the preservation of part of the territory of the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The preservation of the current regime on this territory, which has an openly neo-Nazi Russophobic aggressive character…”

So at last, POTUS has come to realize that it is impossible to realize his goal to “stop the killing” – which is all being done by Putin, and by Ukraine in self-defense against him – unless Putin is incapacitated from killing.

How is this done?  Not by sanctions on countries buying Russian oil.  That’s fine but far more effective is to destroy Russia’s capacity to produce and refine oil in the first place.  Do that and Russia’s economy collapses, and with it Putin’s capacity to fuel and fund his war.

What’s more, Ukraine is well on it’s way to destroy Russia’s entire oil industry already.  Every day now you read of a major Russia refinery or fuel depot or key fuel transport hub blown up.

What POTUS just did this morning is greenlight Ukraine to accelerate this ability – and very likely with a substantial increase in the weapons and technology to do so.

POTUS is transactional. Now he understands that Putin is not – he is messianic, a psychopath who doesn’t want to “stop the killing” because he doesn’t care about the million Russian men he’s already killed and crippled, who’ll heartlessly kill and cripple a million, two million or more, it doesn’t matter if he can genocide Ukraine to make it “Russian” again.

This understanding changes everything. Look at that post of POTUS again.  For the first time, the President wants Ukraine to win and Russia to lose the war.  Interesting times lie ahead indeed. Slava Ukraini!
