GREECE IN AMERICA
Saranda, Albania. What a spectacular place to enjoy a pint of cold Birra Tirana while contemplating the serene beauty of the Ionian Sea and the turmoil of Greek tragedies.
Saranda is at the southern end of a breathtaking coastline known as the Albanian Riviera. Just two miles offshore of Saranda’s beaches looms the northern tip of the Greek island of Corfu. Where I am is heavenly. But right over there in Greece, hell is unfolding.
Thanks to the sanity of Albania’s leader Sali Berisha (you first read about him in Albania in America October, 2008), that hell is unlikely to wash up on Albania’s shores – but thanks to the insanity of our leaders, it’s soon to wash up on America’s.
The ancient Greeks who wrote the tragedies so famous they are performed to this day – Aeschylus (525-456 BC), Sophocles (497-405 BC), and Euripides (480-406 BC) – would be sardonically amused by this current Greek farce.
They would agree that Karl Marx’s assessment – that history does indeed repeat itself, "the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce" – applies to Greece now, where no one is a hero and everyone a beggar or swindler, where nothing rises to the level of real tragedy, it’s simply little people scurrying to grab as much as they can while delaying the inevitable.
I wrote Albania in America 25 days before the monumental tragedy of America electing Zero. It asked this question:
"People get not only the government they deserve, they get the economy they deserve. Too many Americans went nuts with trying to make easy money, flipping homes, et al. Too many Americans elected politicians who encouraged or allowed it. The real question at this moment is will Americans be stupid and suicidal enough to lash out in frustration and place a Marxist Messiah in the White House?"
We all know the answer.
You’ve all seen the blood shed by rioting protestors on the streets of Athens. Not a single one of them accepts any responsibility for their mooching off the state causing their crisis. No more than any rioting public worker in Madison, Wisconsin.
This "austerity package" passed today (6/29) by the Greek parliament as tear gas was fired upon protestors outside on Syntagma Square is simply a tax-raising scam to get more EU loans to pay off French and German banks which drives Greece deeper into a debt hole impossible to climb out of.
The Greek Catch-22 is that Greece’s biggest business is tourism, thus the only way the Greek economy can even begin to revive is a substantial increase in it – yet the striking protestors are shutting down the whole transportation and tourism industry. Talk about screwing yourself masochism.
It’s such a teachable moment regarding the world’s most dangerous and addictive drug: OPM. Far more than heroin, cocaine, and meth, once people are mainlining Other People’s Money via government subsidies and welfare into their veins, any attempt to get them off the drug drives them criminally insane.
It’s a lesson we are going to learn the hard way, for what you are seeing in Athens and other Greek cities – which is going to get increasingly worse – is going to become horrifically commonplace in American cities. Truth is, we are seeing it already.
How many news items have you been seeing lately about "flash mob attacks," roving gangs of proto-hominid urban teens engaging in random violence in cities across the country? In Philly, Chicago, Northern Virginia, South Carolina, Cleveland, Dearborn where Pastor Terry Jones was assaulted by leftist thugs calling themselves By Any Means Necessary (BAMN – how perfectly fascist), Peoria where a mob yelled "Kill all the white people!" – those are just a few examples.
You may think that this is mostly black racist attacks on whites. What’s little known is there are far more latino racist attacks on blacks now. Take Los Angeles, where Mexican gangs have been beating up blacks since the 70s – but it’s never reported because it’s been low-level and doesn’t fit into the enemedia’s narrative of White Racist America.
Lately, however, there has been such an explosion of Mexican gang violence against blacks in LA that journalists have to pay attention. Soon they’ll have to do so elsewhere, for the explosion is emerging in state after state.
As this mob and gang violence continues to surge as an entitlement/welfare society hooked on OPM clashes with a collapsing economy, unemployment, and drastic budget cuts, you can move out of a city, move to a concealed carry state, and be packing wherever you go.
But no matter how much heat you have on you, it won’t protect you from SWAT teams making a false arrest, TSA pervert-goons sexually assaulting you, fascist prosecutors (state and federal) deciding they need you for another notch in their belt, or fascist bureaucrats deciding your failure to fill some form or follow some rule of theirs is jailable.
In other words, violence across the board – by street thugs, public worker unions, or governments at all levels – is now dramatically on the increase all over America. This has been building for years, but under Zero the dam is bursting.
Like the record Missouri-Mississippi flooding of so many millions of acres of heartland America, this record flood of fascism and violence will continue to spread, despoiling our freedom and safety, as long as the Zero Presidency endures. It will only begin to recede once Zero is no longer in the White House.
Here’s one bottom line. You can own as big an arsenal as you want. You can store as much food as you want, and take as many survivalist precautions as you want. These are smart things to do. But far more dangerous to your personal freedom and safety than mobs and marauders is your government on every level, local to federal – unless you live in a state like Texas or a rural county like Nye in Nevada.
These governments, the Federalies especially, will be coming after you to get one thing: your money and assets. To whatever extent you can, get them out of harm’s way – which means offshore. Put them in an offshore bank that – and this is really important – has no branches in the US.
You may have no idea of the all-out war the FBI and the IRS are waging on banks all over the world to force them to disclose the identity and assets of their American account holders. It’s the reason why banks everywhere, such as in Switzerland, no longer will accept American customers.
The leverage the FBI/IRS has with foreign banks is the threat to shut down their US subsidiary and all its branches. The threat, then, is empty if a bank has no such subsidiary and branches.
This is the background to what should be an eye-opening story that was announced last week (6/20): the Royal Bank of Canada has sold its entire US operation including all 424 of its US branches to PNC Bank of Pittsburgh. What’s more, RBC sold it for less than book value.
Think real hard about this. America’s biggest trading partner is Canada, and obviously vice versa. Yet RBC wants out, it’s no longer worth the hassle. RBC wants to be free of FBI/IRS extortion – and considers this to be a very prudent and wise business decision. For now Americans can safely have their money right next door in sober-safe Canada with all normal services like Visa cards, and protected from Federalie thievery.
Most TTPers will prefer to ride out Zero’s fascist flood and accompanying societal chaos, not physically moving out of the country. Seriously consider, though, financially moving out to the extent you can.
True, all foreign bank accounts held by US citizens are reportable to the IRS. That said, an account in an offshore bank with no US branches protects you from Federalie fishing expeditions, and makes it far more difficult for them to steal your money in a guilty-until-proven innocent dispute.
When you watch the violence in Greece on Fox News, realize now that this is coming to America. When you watch the floods in the Midwest, see it as a metaphor for the flood of fascism engulfing us. Then start preparing for both. They will start receding in January 2013 – but a lot of damage will occur in those intervening 18 months.
A year and a half is a long time for Greece to be in America. I wish things could be calm and secure like here in Saranda – but they won’t be. Time to, as the Scouts say, Be Prepared.
