THE GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT

o_2008stupid.jpg

Mr. and Mrs. Zero visited Westminster Abbey on their trip to London this week (5/24), and signed the guestbook.  Mrs. Zero just signed her name.  Mr. Zero wrote a message –  "It is a great privilege to commemorate our common heritage, and common sacrifice" – then signed and dated it:  24 May 2008.

Yes, 2008.  You can see for yourself.  There’s no way around it.  This is a teachable moment that goes far beyond pointing out what massive ridicule would have befallen George Bush or Sarah Palin had they made such a stupid mistake, yet is ignored and brushed aside by the OPM – Obama Propaganda Media – and the worshippers of the Cult of Zero..

There are two lessons to be taught and learned, one about Zero himself, the other about his followers.

Regarding the first, it is now no longer deniable that the current occupant of the White House is not very bright.  There have been too many boneheaded stupidities – "57 states," "Austrian" is a language, on and on.  Not knowing what year it is – 2008??? – clinches it.

Yet dumb gaffes only hint at the problem.  The stunning ignorance he displayed in demanding Israel return to its 1967 "borders" – he didn’t even know they weren’t borders but cease-fire lines – is far scarier.

There is simply no evidence that this man is really smart or has any real grasp of history, geography, and the world as it is. It’s a myth carefully constructed and maintained by the lib media that he’s oh-so-brilliant – which is why he won’t permit his college transcripts to be released (Occidental, Harvard, Columbia) because they’d show such mediocre grades.

What the Westminster Abbey guestbook gaffe provides is a marvelous opportunity for any Pub pres-aspirant with the moxie to exploit it.

It is a fabulous visual which anyone can instantly see and laugh at.  The aspirant could hold up the photo of it in a campaign television ad, point the goof out and note, "We have a president who does not know what year it is," then ask the viewer:

"Mr. Obama is very skilled at reading a carefully scripted speech off a teleprompter.  But his reputation for intelligence may be a myth.  Is, for example, the reason he will not allow his college transcripts from Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard because they show him to be a C student with poor grades?  My grades from college are available for all to see.  I challenge Mr. Obama to do the same."

Such an ad by, say, Herman Cain, would go YouTube viral in a New York second.

Thus the first lesson of  "24 May 2008" – we need a Republican presidential candidate willing to ridicule Zero.

This is why.  One of our speakers at Rendezvous X revealed that for 25 years his mother and father were card-carrying members of the Communist Party – as informants for the FBI.  They learned all the key strategies of the CPUSA to undermine America.

One of them was:  the most devastatingly effective way to destroy a political opponent is by ridicule.  Turn someone into a joke in the public’s eye is what the Commies strove to do with anyone powerfully against them.  It’s a strategy the Dems and the Enemedia have embraced – just look at what they constantly try to do to Sarah Palin.

Add to this that someone suffering from narcissism is acutely vulnerable to being made fun of.  Mr. Obama is a textbook narcissist.  Ridiculing his intelligence – "If you’re so smart, prove it – let’s see your grades in college" – would rattle his cage like little else.

OK – now for the second lesson.  This brings us to Harold Camping and William Miller.

You know about Camping, the fruitcake numerologist so bitterly disappointed that God didn’t slaughter 97% of the human race last Saturday (5/21 – what kind of monster would accuse God of wanting to murder over 6½ billion people, while "saving" only 3% or some 200 million?).  But you might not know about Miller.

William Miller (1782-1849) was a Baptist preacher from Massachusetts who became obsessed with a passage in the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament.  Daniel 8 describes a vision or dream of Daniel’s, during which he is told (verse 14):  "Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed."

Consensus Biblical scholarship on the Book of Daniel is clear.  While the story is of a Jewish exile named Daniel at the court of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II (605-562 BC), it was written during the Maccabean Revolt against the Greek ruler of Jerusalem Antiochus IV Epiphanes (r. 175-164 BC) who sacked the city and razed the Temple in 167.  It predicts that the Temple of Jerusalem ("the sanctuary") will be cleansed of Greek defilement in little more than six years or less.

The leader of the revolt, Judah Maccabee (Judah the Hammer) was successful, defeating Antiochus’ forces and liberating Jerusalem.  He fulfilled the prophecy in Daniel by cleansing and rededicating the Temple on December 14, 164 BC.  This is celebrated by all Jews to this day as the holiday of Hannukah (Dedication).

Miller, however, decided out of the blue that a) the "sanctuary" in Daniel 8:14 meant the earth, b) "cleansing" meant Christ’s Second Coming, and c) "days’ (actually "evenings and mornings" in the original Hebrew OT) really meant years.

Then Miller decided that Year One in Daniel’s prediction was 457 BC, when the Persian Emperor Artaxerxes I sent Ezra (cf Ezra 7:13-28) to Jerusalem.  Deduct 457 from 2300 and you get 1843.  Miller concluded that "Jesus Christ will come again to this earth, cleanse, purify, and take possession of the same, with all the saints, sometime between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844."

Millions of copies of Miller’s tract predicting this were read and avidly believed by folks, primarily in New England and the US northeast.  Then March 21, 1844 came and went.  In response, a Miller follower named Samuel Snow began preaching that he had refined Miller’s calculations to prove that the End of the World would occur precisely on October 22, 1844.

Such a prediction is a clear insult to the Bible, indeed to Jesus Himself who said in Mark 13:32-33:

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is."

Nonetheless, thousands of believers sold all their possessions and waited – many, on the appointed day, on the rooftops of their (now sold) homes waiting to be lifted into the sky.  When nothing happened, the bitterness and disillusionment was so deep and widespread it became known to historians as The Great Disappointment.

Sounds familiar, right – like history just repeated itself last Saturday.  Camping used goofy number tricks based on the number 2300 in Daniel and days-as-years to come up with a fraud that screwed up a lot of gullible people’s lives.  Another Great Disappointment.

So – what has this got to do with Zero?  It’s because Zero worshippers, folks who belong to the Cult of Zero, are gullible fools just like those who believe in frauds like Harold Camping.

Every day since January 20, 2009 has brought fresh evidence of Zero’s malfeasance, mendacity, and mediocrity. The evidence is by now as massive as Mount Everest, and keeps mounting.  The Chicago thug corruption is blatant for all to see – the ZeroCare Waivergate scandal being just one example.  There are dozens of others.

Millions of folks initially got caught up in the emotional frenzy of the Millerite Cult in the early 1840s, but as the first date came and went, the numbers rapidly dwindled, until only the true believers got screwed on October 22, 1844.

Hilariously, Camping is now engaged in some rationalizing con about how the Rapture date is really this October 21st.  You can bet the number of folks sitting around on rooftops or in some field expecting to be raptured on that day will be a small fraction of those who did so last Saturday.

As the economy continues to go south, as tens of millions of people remain unemployed, with all of us facing record inflation – especially with food and energy prices – while enduring ever more rules and government intrusion into our lives, the numbers of true believers in the Cult of Zero will steadily dwindle.

And thus we can predict the exact date of The Great Disappointment to be experienced by members of the cult:  November 6, 2012.

The prediction is conditional.  It is entirely possible that the Republican candidate will be a nebbish afraid to go for Zero’s jugular, or allow the Dems to get away with the gigantic nation-wide voter fraud they are planning.

So it is up to us to prevent such a nebbish (does Romney come to mind?) from grasping the nominational brass ring, that we have someone who can wipe the floor with Zero as Bibi Netanyahu has shown us how it’s done.

If we can do this, then we can be assured that a Great Disappointment awaits those remaining Zero Cultists on Election Day next year, and that on that day America’s salvation and rebirth will commence.
