TRUMP, TREASON, AND THE TALIBAN

No, this is not to accuse Donald Trump of treason.  But it sure is regarding who’s running his campaign now – Paul Manafort.

No one who reads Michael Isikoff’s report for Yahoo News on Wednesday (4/18), Top Trump Aide Lobbied for Pakistani Spy Front, and who has an accurate understanding of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Agency (ISI) can conclude otherwise.

The man who hired Manafort, Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai, went to federal prison.  According to the FBI Report on Fai’s guilty plea (Dec. 2011):

“For the last 20 years, Mr. Fai secretly took millions of dollars from Pakistani intelligence and lied about it to the U.S. government.  As a paid operative of ISI, he did the bidding of his handlers in Pakistan while he met with U.S. elected officials, funded high-profile conferences and promoted the Kashmiri cause to decision-makers in Washington.”

And who in Washington arranged those meetings with elected officials, those conferences, and those promotions to DC decision-makers?  Paul Manafort.  He doesn’t belong running a presidential campaign.  He belongs in jail with Syed Fai.

Here’s the background on just how evil the Pak ISI is, and how treasonous was Manafort’s work for it.

I spent a fair amount of time in Afghanistan with the Mujahaddin fighting the Soviets in the 1980s, and with their leaders in Peshawar, Pakistan – several of whom, such as Burhanuddin Rabbani, leader of the Jamiat Mujahaddin that did most of the actual fighting, I got to know well.

(I’m the one who took Congressman Dana Rohrabacher into Afghanistan in November 1988,  for example.)

Over and over again for years, what I heard from the fellows fighting on the ground inside to leaders like Rabbani was that the flow of weapons supplied by the CIA was controlled by the ISI, with the vast majority funneled to the Hezbi Mujahaddin of Gulbuddin Hekmaktyar, while everyone else got a trickle.

That was because the ISI was run by a man named Hamid Gul who hated America and adored the Ayatollah Khomeini.  As Gulbuddin felt as he did, Gul gave him all the weapons.

Every Hezbi checkpoint I ever went through, every chaisana (tea house) in Hezbi territory, I’d always see big portrait pictures of Khomeini and Gulbuddin side-by-side.  Every non-Hezbi Muj commander inside I ever talked to told me the Hezbis spent their time and weapons fighting other Muj, never the Soviets.

After countless times my telling Congressman Charlie Wilson of this situation (Charlie, by the way, was my best man at my wedding in 1986), Charlie saw to it that CIA weaponry was more equitably shared, including Stingers, whether the ISI liked it or not.

After the Soviet retreat from Afghanistan (February 1989), Gulbuddin as Gul’s and the ISI’s proxy plunged the country into a horrible civil war including targeting multiple civilian areas.

When Gulbuddin proved incapable of taking the country, Gul and the ISI cast him aside, organizing a group of stone-age Moslems in Kandahar called Taliban (“students’) to overrun the country.

It was Gul and the ISI who allowed Osama Bin Laden to establish his base of operations with the Taliban.  In the two weeks immediately prior to September 11, Gul was in Afghanistan with Osama.  Within hours after the terrorist attack on America, Gul, then back  in Islamabad (Pakistan’s capital) publicly announced it was perpetrated by the Jews of Israel’s spy agency, Mossad.

It was Gul and the ISI who protected Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Oadeer Khan and coordinated his program of selling nuclear secrets to such outlaw regimes as North Korea.

It was Gul and the ISI who organized and supported the terrorist groups in Indian Kashmir, such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Toiba.  Such support continues to this day.

It was Gul who publicly praised the ISI for hiding Osama bin Laden for nine years until the SEALs found and killed him.

Gul finally died in 2015, but his evil legacy continues with ISI’s unabated support for the Taliban terrorists killing American and coalition forces in Afghanistan.

Gul’s rabid hatred of America, his praise of Osama bin Laden, his Islamo-Nazi blame for 9/11 on “the Jews” is on vivid display in the transcript of Arnaud de Borchgrave’s interview of Gul on Sept. 26, 2001.

It is with good reason that Hamid Gul is known as Pakistan’s Bin Laden, and The Godfather of Terrorism.  This is the man and his organization, the ISI, that Paul Manafort worked for for years.

The Yahoo News story linked above says “Manafort never registered with the U.S. Justice Department as a foreign agent of Pakistan, as he would have been required to do if he was aware of the ISI funding of his client.”  However:

“A former senior Pakistani official, who asked not to be identified, told Yahoo News that there was never any doubt on Pakistan’s part that Manafort knew of his government’s role in backing the Kashmiri council. The former official said that during a trip from Islamabad in 1994 he met with Manafort and Fai in Manafort’s office in Alexandria, Va., ‘to review strategy and plans,’ for the council. (Internal budget documents later obtained by the FBI show plans by the council to spend $80,000 to $100,000 a year on campaign contributions to members of Congress.) ‘There is no way Manafort didn’t know that Pakistan [read ISI] was involved with’ the council, the former official said.”

Manafort was deep in an illegal and treasonous bed with the creators of the Taliban and the supporters of Osama bin Laden.  This is the man whom Donald Trump has running his campaign.

Please, Mr. Trump, fire this man immediately.
