This is a very interesting poll of young Republican primary voters at the Turning Point USA convention. If Trump runs. 78.7% would support him. If Trump does NOT run, 87% would support DeSantis! I think that this demonstrates that while a lot of Republican primary voters appreciate Trump’s charisma, many of them are aware of Trump’s shortcomings:

Then again, do Trump’s shortcomings matter (aside from his often-terrible personnel choices)? Maybe they’re a feature not a bug. Here’s a must-read on the matter:

YIKES! OMG!! The Fourth Turning is approaching true crisis levels. A University of Chicago survey finds that somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 of Americans believe that they may have to take up arms against the Federal government! Was the percentage any higher in 1776? Xiden claims that Americans with small arms can’t beat F-16s and nuclear weapons. (Yes, Xiden actually implied that he would use nuclear weapons against fed up Americans.) Oh? Really?? How well did that work in Afghanistan, Joe?
This is a very dangerous situation. “When responses were broken down by party affiliation, the poll showed 33 percent of Republican voters and 35 percent of Independent voters believe it may be necessary to take up arms. One in every five Democrat voters believe they may have to take up arms as well.” Note that the Independents scored higher than the Republicans and that even 20% of ‘Crats agreed.
This is what can happen when citizens believe that their vote no longer counts, whether that is because of a running amok administrative state, election fraud, or a Supreme Court that allowed the presidency to be stolen. A seriously large group of Americans believe that the Federalies are both out of their control and an existential threat to them, and that massive violence may be necessary to restore that control.
This could get seriously ugly; note that very few violent revolutions lead to a better life for most people. Don’t bet your life that it can’t happen here…

And why could that happen? Here is one example of a huge number of reasons why so many Americans have decided that government is out of their control. “This is about… oppressive double standards from hopelessly corrupted American institutions… about living in a country where if you are not among the protected class, you are treated as a second-class citizen by the fascist left:
