A TTPer is in Ukraine now, who tells me the latest joke on Ukrainian lips is, “Everyone thought that Russia had the #2 army in the world. Turns out, that it has the #2 army in Ukraine.”
The Russian Titanic has hit the Ukrainian Iceberg and is sinking. Here are the latest (3/16-17) updates from British Military Intelligence:

China has diplomatic relations with Ukraine. Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Fan Xianrong recently relocated his office and staff from Kyiv to safer Lviv, and held a meeting on Monday (3/14) with Lviv Mayor Maksym Kozytskyi. The mayor was assured that China was a “friendly country for the Ukrainian people” and would “never attack Ukraine,” that China “will respect the path chosen by Ukrainians because this is the sovereign right of every nation.”
The news report is: China Praises Ukraine Resistance, Pledges Economic Support. Today (3/18), the CCP news agency CGTN (China Global Television Network) in announcing major humanitarian aid being shipped to Ukraine, reaffirmed Amb. Fan’s statement.
Our TTPer was in Lviv when this meting took place. He was told the mayor, in a private unrecorded conversation, asked Fan his opinion of Putin’s threats to use nuclear weapons to defeat Ukraine. Fan replied, “That won’t happen.”
This fits with what I’ve heard from other sources – that Xi has expressly told Putin that going nuclear (or biochem) is the CCP’s red line that Putin will not be allowed to cross. The message being that Xi has people around Putin very well paid to prevent this. Nuke saber-rattling was fine to frighten Biden and the EU into compromising support for Ukraine (World War III!! World War III!!) – but no more.
It’s unknown, however, if Xi disclosed this in any way during his two-hour talk with Biden this morning.

So… Communist China is protecting America and Europe from a nuclear holocaust?? Yep, sure looks like. Nuclear war is not in, and definitely against, China’s interests. The Chicoms could give a rotting fig about their vassal Putin. They don’t much care about Ukraine either, but it is intensely interesting for them to watch how ridiculously incompetent and backward the vaunted Russian Army is, just taken apart by Ukrainian freedom fighters.
Read the Wall Street Journal’s article on Wednesday (3/16) for an example: A Ukrainian Town Deals Russia One of the War’s Most Decisive Routs. Inspiring and illuminating. There were so many dead Russian soldiers the town had to cart them to a train freezer car.
Or how the Ukrainians cleaned the clock of Putin’s Chechen butchers: Putin Turned to a Chechen Warlord to Intimidate Ukraine. It Hasn’t Worked. Now Moscow’s desperate dictator is turning his counterpart in Syria to send several thousand Syrians for Ukrainian target practice. He’s running out of Russian conscripts to do that.
Xi can see which way the wind is blowing, a typhoon flattening Russia’s military and Russia itself. He didn’t expect the EU and the US to so forcefully support Ukraine with massive arms shipments, nor that Ukrainians would use them so well, nor that Russians would fight so pathetically.
Which is why he greenlighted Uzbekistan to publicly take Ukraine’s side yesterday (3/17): Uzbekistan Calls For An End To Aggression In Ukraine. The Central Asian republic wants no part of being a Russian colony once again, and looks to China to help prevent that.
I was asked on the TTP Forum this morning, “Jack, what’s your take on the end game in Ukraine?”
My reply: “China feeding on the carcass of Russia.”
Putin has outlived his usefulness for the Chicoms. Whether he’s gone off the rails mentally or not, he’s made a gargantuan blunder trying to seize a huge sovereign nation of over 40 million people who hate Russia’s guts for enslaving them for centuries then committing full genocide on 10 million of them under Stalin (the Holodomor).
As a consequence, Putin has ruined his own country. To the extent Russia can recover is in question, but the days of its being any kind of world power are gone with the wind – as Putin soon will be.
With that, Chicom eyes are fixed on two priorities: ridding Russia of its nuclear missiles (most of which are aimed at them), and recovering their Siberian provinces Russia stole from them in 1858. Absolutely true. Yet his stating the truth, and all the weaponry he is sending to Ukraine enabling Putin’s defeat, is not helping his or his party’s popularity.
On Wednesday, Pelosi hosted every member of the House and Senate to watch President Zelensky address them. His words brought them all to tears –

As you can see, the entire United States Congress stood as one applauding in admiration. Yet this will not help Pelosi retain the House nor Schumer the Senate.
Because however much Americans are rooting for Ukraine against Putin’s monstrous evil, they do not buy the Dems placing the blame for Bidenflation, much less the unchecked flood of illegals into their land, on Russia.
If Biden, Pelosi, and the Dems had functioning brains, they would pivot off disastrous policies and embrace what voters want. They would follow the lead of the Dem making the most sense, Joe Manchin, and open up the Keystone Pipeline, wash away all their own regulatory obstacles, and reinstitute Trump’s policies that achieved our energy independence. They would Build the Wall and stop the flood.
Nothing would spell Victory for the Dems in November like $2 gas, and “We’re protecting our own border like we’re protecting Ukraine’s.”
But they can’t and they won’t. They are too wedded to their Climate Cult religion. And their determination to flood America with illegals whom they can welfare-bribe to vote for them in rigged elections.
Just look at this story on Tuesday (3/15): Biden Promises Executive Action on Climate Change as Energy Costs Spike. Would that be to take Manchin’s advice and save his party thereby? Of course not.
“The war in Ukraine and Russia’s impact on oil prices, Biden said, only prove that the United States and Europe need to stop using fossil fuels. ‘Imagine where we’d be right now if, in fact, Europe was in fact energy free of fossil fuels and we were in a situation where it was all renewables,’ he said. ‘It’d be a different world.’
The president did not talk about how his climate change policies could raise costs further for Americans suffering the punishing inflation rates and a spike in energy prices.
Biden argued he could help families cut costs by passing subsidies for improving the energy efficiency of homes, lowering the cost of electric cars, and doubling the production of wind and solar power.”

As an aside, keep your eye on a SCOTUS case, West Virginia v EPA: Supreme Court Hears Blockbuster Climate Case With Separation Of Powers Implications.
In 2015, Obama’s EPA ruled CO2 is a “pollutant” without any authority to do so from Congress, and proceeded to hamstring power companies with it. Their only authority would be if CO2 were a toxic pollutant which it can’t be as it’s plant food. If SCOTUS rules 5-4 (you know Roberts will wimp out) against the EPA, it will do major if not mortal damage to the entire demonization of CO2.
Regardless, come November, gas at the pump will be higher than ever, a Biden Recession will be in bloom, we’ll have more illegals infesting towns all across the country, Ukraine will be free of Russians and rebuilding while Putin resides in history’s dustbin. So what will the GOP do with their majorities? Capitalize or squander?
